El Tequila Mexican Restaurant & Steakhouse — Restaurant in Metropolis

I would say the lower than 4.8 Rating was from years ago (under old management) because this by far is the best restaurant in Metropolis ! Note that its $ not $$ when talking pricing of meals compared to other establishments in the immediate area.

This place is awe think tick!I haven't had food like this since the 90s.... so much so I think they made the food special just because I recently moved to town (but how'd they know 🤪). The CSRs were nice, courteous, and expeditious... the decor unique and Mexican- American. The food though. I had all the street tacos flavors (pork/beef/steak/fish) and WAS IMPRESSED AND LOST MY DARN MIND COUPLING THESE WITH THE FRESH QUESO. I wish I could eat this every night, but my mind knows this cannot come to fruition with a calorie count in effect! THEREFORE.... THEREFORE.... THEREFORE... this is my TREAT place in the "metro". So... come to the casino, don't eat elsewhere than here and VERY LIKELY, METROPOLIS WILL GROW ON YOU.... if I had a date, this would be date night...

I never leave reviews but today the whole situation got under my skin! I had placed a pick up order I get my food get home open up my box and my street tacos had no meat in 2. The oder comes with 3 tacos. 2 was just shell and it's not like the meat had fell out or anything with all the meat in there it made 1 taco and on top of that they didn't give me any limes, I called told them said no problem they would replace. So I call back up later and said hey I'm gunna come get those tacos they wrote me down and then they wanted me to bring the empty shell back and tried to argue with me like I was lying. When I pay almost 70 dollars for food yeah I want all my food. Then on my recept it had just prices and all of them said custom amount so I have no idea what I paid for or how much each item was. So on top of that I Def feel like I also over paid. I won't order here again, only reason I did cause el Toro Loco was closed. Lesson learned. So we walked in, quickly greeted, escorted to our sits. Drinks came quick. Decor is interesting, bright, cheerful. Clean dining room. If you don't cout the fly. Always a plus. So we placed our order with very nice, upbeat server. The guacamole is very well seasoned, fresh and worthy. The salsa is unfortunately store bought. So the main dishes, the hard shell tack is well, tiny. So if your 4yrs old then perfect. Grown man needs 15 of those. The street tacos are pretty good, Lightly seasoned. The canned refried beans are just that, canned. The rice is well, prepackaged. So not truly worth a mention. Enchilada sauce is also canned. So if your here more for the drinks the food will do. If your hunting for authentic Mexican food, like me. we have to keep searching. So in fairness, I will Rate the a solid 4. Because the service was great, food was topical, not true Mexican.
