Dollar General — Local services in Metropolis

The store itself is good. It has a wide variety of things that you can purchase for cheap but when one is shopping, customer service should be a priority Especially when you are a frequent shopper, when I was in there today, just picking up some random stuff that I needed around the house that I didn’t wanna have to go to Walmart for ,I decided to get some Ramen (because the kids love it I don’t know why it’s gross but anyway) and next thing I know is one of the employees come up to me grab something off the end cap that was right around the corner for me and picked it up and said did you put this here and my responses is no with confusion and the employees response is because it’s broke and spilling everywhere And someone did it ,it was some type of lotion or I don’t know some kind of white bottle of something ,but the tone this employees voice and the body language, and the facial expression was judgmental towards me mind you I didn’t even know what this thing was that this employee picked up, But not only did it offend me that I was being accused of a situation that I did not create, nor had any idea of, but the fact that he did it in front of my special-needs child which, by the way, made her very agitated and uncomfortable, so at that point, I put the majority of my items back where I got them and only got a few items because that will be the last time that I proceeded to purchase stuff there and this isn’t the first time that I’ve had an issue with this employee mind you my child is special needs so my child doesn’t have very good communication skills my child doesn’t interact with people very often and is very quiet does not make eye contact, etc. the last time that we had a negative interaction with this employee we walked in and my child walked by this employee and this employee was putting stuff on the shelf. This employee said hello how are you doing today? Or to that effect and my child which is very quiet and doesn’t really interact with people said it really quietly good and this employees response was (well I guess I’m just talking to myself) really loudly which Caused a lot of attention from other customers towards my child and made my child feel very uncomfortable and agitated at that time.I didn’t say anything or review about that I let that one go because people have bad days, but if you’re in customer service and need to be professional if you assume something happen there is a way to go about it without accusations or confrontations and if you assume someone is damaging something within your store, you do have asset protection, correct that’s why you have video camera etc and maybe you should look at that and see if that’s the person that you thought was doing it instead of accusing or confronting that customer, The way that this was handled today was unprofessional from an employee or manager, I do not know which title you have and I’m not gonna put your name here because that would be very unprofessional of me. but please maybe do some reeducation on communication skills with your customers and asset protection skills of...

Now at this Dollar Store I have never had a problem it doesn't matter how long I'm going to store I never get followed around for anything they always ask if I'm finding what I mean what I'm needing because they are recently remodeled and I don't know the store like I used to they don't ever come outside to see why you're still there if you're still there and sometimes I'm there for a little while in the parking lot even before I go in because there's free WiFi so I might sit out there and download some things on my granddaughter's tablet or Kindle and then never come out there I call it spy on you I prefer this Dollar Store over the other one or even Family Dollar because they do the same thing to me at Family Dollar and I've never stolen...

The Dollar General in Metropolis Illinois never has anything in it on 8th Street they let people go they let people go that are really good workers and they cut peoples hours that are good workers so now they just hired anybody and everybody and they're trying to pick up the pieces and they can't but they're all try hard! They're good workers this company here just has nothing really!! The new Dollar General always has their stuff pretty much put up very rare is it not and you can always find what you want on 10th in Metropolis Illinois! They need to put in a Dollar Tree there and take that one out on...
