Whataburger — Restaurant in Mexia

There is only one Whataburger in Mexia Texas. The manager is phenomenal. Kenneth is very knowledgeable and eager to help. Unfortunately, there is a problem every single time I visit this restaurant. Mostly cold fries. I simply don’t understand how one of the most expensive fast food restaurants in town serves mediocre fare. It’s truly not worth what you pay for. I’ve used coupons to reduce the expense. I’ve redeemed points. I’ve called corporate to earn points for purchases when the app wouldn’t accept the coupons I received in the mail. Nothing. Ever. Works. These seemingly small issues keep me from frequenting this franchise more often than I do. Recently, the drive-thru line was long so I figured the food would be fresh and hot. So I ordered on the app for curbside delivery. And you guessed it…cold fries and a sloppy warm burger. (View photos). The burger ALONE cost me almost $10 because I redeemed points for the fries. Disappointed again.. in Whataburger’s defense, I went inside to replace the cold fries with hot ones and the young man was pleasant and eager to help. Very redeeming on their part. However, I shouldn’t have received cold fries to begin with. I shouldn’t have had to replace anything. FYI-The call I placed to corporate three months ago? My parents and me and my husband met at the Mexia Whataburger this past week, because that's where my Dad wanted to eat for his birthday! We all live 1.5 hours away from this location but it's a good middle meeting point. I thought I would ask the cashier if they had a 83 place marker for his birthday so we could take a photo since we always use birthday number candles for family birthdays. She said she would go check. Before we ever got to our seats, Lacey had not only found a 83 table marker and a Happy Birthday table marker, she had informed Kenneth, the manager, and he showed up to our table with a cup full of Whataburger goodies for my dad (like what they would hand out at a recruiting table/fair), and added apple pie and cinnamon roll to our table for him. This made my Dad's day and ours too! Thank you for always having great food, and going above and beyond for fabulous...

I got there ordered my usual... Waking in it looked clean, there were about 5 families seated as I walked in.. As I ordered i saw a lot of fries under the heat lamp all ready to be bagged....After a ten minute wait I saw orders coming out only to realize, only one out of the five families were eating and the rest were slowly getting served... I got closer to the counter as my order was take out. I stood there for Another eight to ten minutes to see the same fries that had been there the whole time be put in my bag... Not wanting to add more stress I just walked out with my order... As you would imagine burger was crisp on edges and fries were not the fries I look forward to when going to my favorite burger joint. I wouldn't mind the wait if at least my food was fresh......
