Dollar General — Local services in Mexia

Some people are complaining about the smell of this place, which makes me wonder. Before this place was open The Mexia Supermarket was here, and if u dint know the incident that happened, then I'll tell u. It all started when the place was abandoned, the food started to rot as it was left in there, maggots, rats and other diseases grew on foods inside there, the smell was terrible and it melted into the walls and foundation. Several years later, in 2007 the place had been demolished and turned into dollar general and people were still complaining about a smell. I know it's been a long, long time since the mexia supermarket but maybe that's what the smell is as it spored into the whole place, I could/probably be wrong, but this is just a Theory.

Let me update this review, I will be frank. This place is poverty and ill managed. I have been in there on more than one occasion when I feel I was being punked. Like I was the last man on earth. I hollered for cashier and the place echoed. Where are they at? I go there cause it's right down the road but man it's been like that awhile now. If your breezing east through town might as well go Walmart 👉❎Quick in and out usually but if a line forms you could be there a while .Scant grocery and no vegetables. On the plus.it has wide aisles so there is no cramped feeling you...

The Dollar General in Groesbeck is a very pleasant store. Just one time I went there the cashier had a whole line of customers this particular time and the Sales Associate/Cashier just walked away and we stood there for awhile. We finally left. She just disappeared and didn't say anything to nobody that I'm aware of. Also when they built the new store they should've built another way into the parking lots. Very difficult to get to. Just suggestion criticism

All the other times I went there was alright. I've noticed they started adding more acrylic painting supplies....
