Grand Buffet — Restaurant in Mexia

My husband and I have been eating here since they opened, but have not been back there since an incident happened about three weeks ago. We were eating and we went and got a few fried shrimp. It was around 4:30pm. The cook had put out the shrimp so I got about 3 shrimp and my husband got maybe 4. When we checked out to pay, the owner told us we would have to pay for the evening price since we ate some shrimp. We explained to her that we didn't know we weren't supposed to eat the shrimp. It was around 4:40pm when we had completed our meal and we proceeded to check out and pay. We showed her the time on our receipt. We have never been told not to eat shrimp or certain foods or we would have to pay more money. We feel we weren't treatef fairly. It wasn't so much as the money to us, as it was...

We went in for dinner and you could clearly tell that it was the lunch buffet they were trying to Pawn off as dinner! I brought it to their attention and they tried to tell me it was fresh food I pointed it out that it was stale and hard and when I walked away they took it away and brought out fresh!! I told them that I used to work at a Chinese buffet and I know how they do the dinner they put out lunch leftovers first to get rid of them and then bring out dinner so I'm quite aware of how they work the cook look quite bewildered and that is when the food begin to change out. This establishment is BY FAR my favorite Buffet-style restaurant ANYWHERE!! I’ve eaten Asian food in different states for decades. I’ve eaten in L.A.’s and Houston’s Chinatown areas. I’ve eaten Sushi in Toronto Canada. Enjoyed Asian buffets in Las Vegas also. So when I state that GRAND BUFFET is the best. I don’t say that lightly. My goodness!
