As an Elite member with Marriott I was so applauded by my experience at this hotel. Normally I would stay at the FontainB when I’m in Miami but I decided this time to be a bit cost efficient. This hotel is an autograph collection hotel yet it seems more like the ones they don’t talk about. I booked a high floor oceanfront room on the property and when I arrived they stated we upgraded you to an oceanfront with a balcony. I thought oh that’s great I appreciate it. They do a hold for $150 USD a night which I was fine about but definitely more than I’ve ever spent for a hotel hold even at the Ritz Carlton it’s $100 a night. We get to the room and while the room faced the ocean we were on the 5th floor overlooking the pool with trees blocking the oceanfront view that we should have been guaranteed. If you look down the Adults Only pool was filthy. It was extremely cloudy compared to the kids/family pool.
I felt like the room was very bland but we figured we would make the best of it. I went to the bathroom and yelled at spouse thinking he didn’t flush the toilet after using it but truly the toilet actually didn’t flush properly. You had to hold it down for about 60 secs and wait for everything to go down.
Later that night I realized even though I turned the AC on to 69 it stayed at 74. It was extremely hot! An engineer came to fix it around 3am.
After thinking we can get sleep after sweating up a storm but when I woke up the next day and rolled over I saw something on my pillow. I thought it was my hair until I sat up and saw we had termites all over us and on our pillows and pouring out of the walls. I screamed and he jumped up with bite marks all over him. Some areas are swollen even a day later. We reported it and took videos. They upgraded us to a suite for our final night. As soon as we walked in we went straight to the bed and moved it away from the wall. We noticed it was filthy underneath and just kept telling each other we just have one more day. FYI room 546 had the termites.
While on the property there were several things I noticed that was concerning as far as the service. 1. As someone else noted they are charging $26 for an umbrella. The beach guys claim it’s a separate company yet they still are able to charge it to your room. Warning they do not tell you about the charge unless you ask. So that means you see it during checkout.
The Donna Marie restaurant and the hotel bar were pleasant. The bartender Claudine really tried to help me calm down from the termite situation. I am even now still scratching myself and my anxiety is through the roof. I had a nightmare last night they were in my hair. I’ve been crying nonstop and honestly I’m just ready to go home. Even the drinks are crazy. I ordered a French 75 which is champagne and vodka yet they tried to give me Prosecco instead which is insane. Same for mimosas. If you want champagne it’s an extra $30 for something that comes with champagne. For 2 drinks we spent $70. 2 regular drinks were $70 and that’s what the cheap stuff. This hotel absolutely does not deserve to be 4 stars . My spouse snores so he asked me about my headphones and I realized I had left them in the termite room number 546. He walked with security to go get them and he said they cleaned the room and he shifted the cover to see if they were underneath and noticed termites and larva was still there. How can you sell that room to another guests knowing it has a bug issue. Marriott dropped the ball with this hotel. Im an engineer and own a travel Conceirge company and I book my clients frequently with a trusted brand like Marriott but after this experience which completely destroyed my downtown away from kids working remotely May 27-29, 2024( btw WIFI crashed frequently) I can say make sure you trust the bad reviews. I thought there was no way this could happen but I’ve had my 1st very traumatic experience. Imagine walking around scratching yourself, every time your hair touches you it’s a termite crawling out of your hair, when you wake up bugs will be all...
Read morein all honesty if i could rate it 0 stars i would. i’ve stayed in a lot of hotels but this way by far the worst just due to customer service. i wouldn’t recommend anyone to stay here especially if you’re not local to miami or to america at all. we had issues the minute we walked in. we booked with a third party site and on our booking confirmation it informed us we’d be around 250-300 in fees at the hotel. when we arrived the hotel basically changed what was stated even though we provided them with what was stated and tried charging us £2k in fees we thought what was insane because no where was this ever stated we’d have to pay this much and if it is a policy the hotel should 100% inform their guest beforehand in an email. we booked for two rooms and we were only given one they told us we’d have to contact the third party to sort this out so we did and the third party informed us that they said we were a no call no show. which was so disturbing to me because they had us waiting in the lobby for hours so saying we were a no call no show when you’ve clearly seen us and it was heart breaking because we had two small children with us. after going back and forth we were allowed to go to our rooms we asked is it big enough to fit 5 ppl in it they ensured us it would because it had two queen beds in it and they’d bring a foldable bed which they did not. then the next day they said in order for us to get the other room we’d have to pay the 2k again for that room which again i found ridiculous even for a “luxury” hotel. it really dampened the start of our holiday. on our stay we asked multiple other guests about the fees they had to pay and a lot definitely wasn’t adding up and some other customers even informed us they felt like they were upcharged too. the staff weren’t friendly at all and they made no offers to at least help the situation. the hotel is absolutely beautiful but the staff is just terrible. our room was clean but the reason i rated it 3/5 is the bathroom the tub was stained and dirty before we even used it and at night it would have a disgusting smell. i can’t forget how there was also a fire alarm that went off which panicked everyone i could smell some type of smoke coming from the vents so we had to rush down from the sixth floor nobody was saying anything there was nothing over the speakers saying it was a drill or mistake a fellow customer at the hotel said it was a false alarm but we wanted to double check so we went up to reception and asked the lady at the reception was laughing saying no it was a false alarm. to me it wasn’t a situation to laugh at we were with kids and it was very late at night when it happened so they were so scared and to be laughing? there was an old lady with her grandchild who was so scared we had to help her and her grandchild down the stairs the situation wasn’t funny at all. good things is it is located in a perfectly area close to loads of stores loads of night life. also the pool crew they don’t work under the hotel but they were amazing they are one of the only reasons we felt happy. they are the kindest and most hard working. that’s generally one of the best things about the hotel and it isn’t even their staff. i’d love to know the name of their company so i could give it 5 stars because their customer service is impeccable. unfortunately overall this hotel was an immediate no for me id recommend staying at the other hotels near by because it is in a great location and they won’t charge you ridiculous fees i know for sure because we had a friend staying basically next door who stayed the same amount of time as us and didn’t pay half as much as us and their hotel was a 4+ hotel too. i have been thinking about taking this further too and taking it to social media because i genuinely don’t believe anyone should stay in a hotel with staff like this. because even during and after our stay they would charge random amounts and they told us it was just the system messing up surely they need to fix this. they need to either retrain their staff or...
Read moreMy girlfriend, my baby, and I stayed at the Cadillac Hotel in Miami Beach from July 13–18, 2025. What unfolded during our stay was one of the most traumatic, hostile, and unprofessional experiences I’ve ever endured at a hotel—and I feel compelled to warn others, especially families.||||On the night of July 16, I stepped out for dinner between 8:30 p.m. and 10:50 p.m., while my friend stayed out in downtown Miami. I was at Los Fuegos restaurant—where I have proof of entry, timestamped photos, and a reservation under my name.||||When I returned to the hotel at 10:50 p.m., I received a phone call from the front desk saying an escort was coming to move us to a different room. I was confused and asked why, but no clear answer was given. Moments later, four male staff members entered our room without consent and began packing our things—within 10 minutes, while my baby screamed in terror. They spilled her milk, threw her diapers and medication on the floor, and created complete chaos. It was frightening and deeply violating.||||We were moved to a lower floor into a room where the shower didn’t work, the sink was clogged, and the safe was broken. We immediately notified the front desk—but our concerns were ignored. The next day, my friend returned early from her night out after learning what had happened. She spoke to Ludy Gonzales, the front office manager, who claimed I had called earlier that night (between 9–10 p.m.) requesting a room change due to a “baby smell.”||||This is a complete fabrication. I was not in the hotel at that time and never made any such request. When we asked to see the phone records, the hotel refused. Instead of acknowledging a mistake, Ludy doubled down and even tried to manipulate my friend into believing I had lied to her. The resort manager, Sceheryar Qureshi, also refused to acknowledge the discrepancy and insisted I had made the call—despite my absence being clearly provable.||||We involved the general manager, Marco Fuentes, but no one took accountability. The staff remained defensive, uncooperative, and dismissive of our trauma. We received no apology, no explanation, and no compensation.||||This was more than poor service. It was unprovoked aggression toward a guest and her child, carried out without any legal or ethical basis. Hotel staff touched and packed our belongings—including a passport—without consent, which we’ve since reported to the Miami Beach Police Department.||||In addition to this horrific treatment, the hotel adds layers of hidden costs. Resort fees, taxes, state fees, and even $30 per day for a beach umbrella. For the service and treatment we received, it’s a complete scam.||||This hotel is not suitable for families, and certainly not safe for single mothers or guests traveling with young children. The management lacks professionalism, empathy, and basic communication skills. It was the most stressful travel experience of my life.||||Ludy Gonzales and the management team should be held accountable for the lies, the unlawful conduct, and the trauma they inflicted on my family. Until then, I strongly advise others to avoid the Cadillac Hotel...
