This hotel has the worst front desk staff I have ever experienced in my life. They are all young adults who are so unprofessional. It’s as if you’re at a high school party and interrupting their get-together when requesting anything at all. ||When I checked in, I asked for an upgrade, which was granted, I was asked to wait by the pool until it was ready. I waited only about 40 minutes and then went up to my requested ocean-view room. When I arrived in the room, I quickly realized that it was not an ocean view room; it was a pool view, and everyone on one side of the pool area could see into my room. I was so tired that I didn’t mind taking the pool view room and closing the curtains. I went into the bathroom to unpack some things and I noticed three ants on the floor, which I got rid of.||I then went to put the "Do Not Disturb" sign on my door, but when I picked it up, it was all sticky. So, I went back to the bathroom to rinse my hands. When I turned on the faucet, the handle fell off. I went down to the front desk and let the staff know what was happening, and they said they would send maintenance up to fix the faucet. I told them I didn’t want any chemicals sprayed in my room, and to make sure this didn’t happen, I would let them know when I got back from picking up something for lunch so I could meet maintenance in my room.||When I returned from lunch, I let them know they could send maintenance up. I went upstairs and waited about 20 minutes, but nobody came. When I finished my lunch, (still no maintenance) I started unpacking more of my suitcase and dropped my flip-flops on the floor which made a loud noise. When I did this, a bunch of ants scattered out from under the cabinet where my suitcase was laying. At this point, I no longer wanted to stay in this room.||I went downstairs to the front desk and informed them that I needed another room. They showed me a room with a view of another building directly up against the window. I said this would not suffice, and they told me they had nothing else available. I was only supposed to be in Florida for two days, staying at this hotel for both nights.||I packed up my suitcase and went to the lobby with all of my belongings. While in the lobby with my suitcase, I pleaded with the front desk to show me another room. I didn’t care if the view was of the street, no matter what it was, as long as it wasn’t the wall of another building. They just continued to tell me they had no other rooms… yet people kept checking in while I was standing there. I called customer relations and spoke to a very nice woman who genuinely tried to help me. However, when she called the hotel, she too could only speak to the front desk, and they gave her a completely fabricated story of what was going on. Not only that, but they provided her with an email address, claiming it was the general manager's email, but it was actually the main email address for the hotel, meaning the front desk staff received my email.||I tried to call the general manager, Mark Amidon, over and over again, but he would not get on the phone. You cannot get past the front desk staff. They assured me that he would call me back, but I never received a call. He seems to be responding to all of these bad reviews on TripAdvisor, but who knows if it’s even him? If he is responding, he’s hiding behind the Internet; he will not respond to any customers on-site nor any phone calls that come in. You will not get anywhere; you will only be able to deal with the inexperienced staff at the front desk who seem to relish making your experience horrifying.||I was so horrified by this experience that I ultimately decided to forgo my vacation and return home right away. The woman from Customer Relations booked me a reservation at another Radisson Hotel by the airport (which I paid for) and I took a flight home very next morning, which happened to be my birthday. The whole experience was horrifying and unbelievable. Do not stay here. |Unfortunately, I took videos of the ants which I am unable to upload to this review, but I tried to take some screenshots via the video. However, they’re...

To start, this has been the best hotel my Wife and I have stayed at. We arrived on August 6th and checked out on August 12th
We made this our stay for our 4th year Wedding Anniversary getaway and do not regret it one bit. To start, we arrived into Miami 3 hours early so our rooms were not quite ready but we were able to have valet take care of our car and take our bags inside so that when our rooms were ready, they could be taken to our room. They also had no problem allowing us to relax in the comfortable lobby out of the Florida heat. The front desk staff were nothing but courteous and professional to us from the moment we arrived.
Just a tip for those arriving, valet parking is the only option. This is not a complaint but just something for someone not familiar with that area that comes in looking for a parking lot :) Speaking of Valet, please make sure to tip them well when they retrieve your vehicle for you. They deserve it and they appreciate it. It's hot outside and they battle traffic to provide this service for us. They are an asset to the hotel and we enjoyed the smiles and professionalism.
Location is amazing in my opinion. There are some building projects taking place nearby but this never bothered us or caused us any discomfort , headache or grief. In order for an area to flourish and grow, building or renovations are just part of that process. It was also nice to see workers inside of the hotel performing work to maintain the hotel and they were never an obstruction. I would have been more concerned to not see staff performing maintenance tasks. It shows the owner and management really care about the appearance and function of the establishment which I can really appreciate.
The ability to walk out the front door and be within walking distance of so much was great! Just a few minutes from Walgreens or CVS, Starbucks among other places to eat and just take in the sights of Collins Avenue was great. We also appreciated being next door to the iconic Fontainebleau hotel.
The restaurant staff were outstanding! We had many breakfasts, lunches and dinners and received 5 star quality dishes each time. The bartender that fixed my Mojito one evening knows what she's doing because it was perfect! I would like to give a special shoutout to two of our breakfast waiters Grahcie and Owoji ( I hope I did not butcher the spellings) They both really love what they do and enjoy making their guests feel special and cared for and I can tell are just genuinely great people so I felt they deserved a mention in this portion of the review! Nothing like an amazing breakfast to start off the day of fun!
Our room was amazing! We booked a balcony oceanfront room (1024 to be exact) and it was the perfect view overlooking the water, the palm trees and boardwalk. The housekeeping staff were wonderful and did a fantastic job at room upkeep and ensuring that we had a great experience. They work very hard and have great attention to detail and I don't think that gets called out enough so big Kudos to housekeeping! I could not give them much, but left a brief hand-written note before we left.
The checkout process (while we were sad to leave) was just as smooth and effortless as the check-in process was and front desk staff were just as nice and professional. We will definitely be back at some point and have some high net worth friends that I will be recommending to go stay as well! The stay was worth every cent and then some and if you're either in Miami or heading to Miami, do yourself a favor and book yourself a stay here!
Sidenote: I LOVE to see the owner responding to reviews. So many businesses have generic or canned review responses so to see personal responses speaks volumes about the owner. It says they really truly care about the experiences the customers have and they are invested in knowing and understanding the experiences. That on it's own deserves a...
Read moreI wish I could rate my stay at the Radisson as a 0 -star experience. Our experience was less than acceptable and I have never experienced a remotely similar stay at any hotel establishment in my life. I booked 2 rooms at the Radisson for the weekend for a birthday celebration -- accommodations should be the last thing I need to worry about and what should have been the least stressful and most reliable portion of our trip, especially at a franchised establishment like the Radisson. That was far from true for countless reasons:
Check-in: I had called many days prior to our stay to request an early check-in upon our arrival to Miami. After receiving confirmation that there should have been no issues in accommodating these requests. Upon arrival to our dismay, the rooms were not available. We come to find out we are the first inhabitants in both rooms - further alluding to the fact that these rooms were in fact ready upon our arrival and we very well could have been let in - as opposed to crowding the lobby. Power outages: Both rooms separately experienced 6 power outages (12 total). While it is great that we were offered newly renovated rooms, it became very clear these rooms were uninhabitable and should not have been made available to any guests. Upon repeat calls to the front desk & mechanic to turn the power on, the staff's solution was that we just don't plug anything into the bathroom outlets. This was the start of the continued problems we faced with the hotel. I really cannot fathom how these rooms were released without any sort of quality control. A single working outlet is an absolute necessity in any hotel and this was a major issue. No Deadbolts - The deadbolts in both rooms did not work. This is equal parts shocking and unacceptable and an incredibly concerning security and safety issue, especially as a group of females traveling. This again alludes to the uninhabitable nature of the rooms we were offered- the remodel was clearly in the final stages but by no means was it complete. Further, South Beach is not the safest of areas, especially being surrounded by such robust nightlife. The front doors and elevators to the Radisson do not require key card access, therefore it becomes incredibly easy for any non-guest to gain access to our floor. With the lack of entrance security, a door with a deadbolt should be the absolute bare minimum. Broken Key Card System- Continuing on to what might have been the most utterly frustrating, painful, stressful, and yet again the incredibly unacceptable issue was with the hotel key cards and granting access to our rooms. This problem persisted from the initial check-in through the culmination of the stay. Between the 8 people and 2 rooms, not a single key card worked on the scanner to grant access to the rooms --- EVERY SINGLE TIME. All keycards were effectively single-use cards and then immediately void. Every time we returned to the hotel, we all would head to our rooms, try all 8 key cards, return downstairs to bother the front desk staff to reprogram the keys and be escorted back to both rooms. Upon check-in, the keys failed (at this point it should have been clear these rooms were again uninhabitable) - right off the bat the mechanic had to grant us access to the rooms after we waited in the 8th-floor hallway for ~20 mins to troubleshoot. A technician came to reprogram the doors multiple times - and repeatedly acknowledged the issue “should” now be fixed -- never was. Collectively we had a stack of approximately 45 key cards reprogrammed during the stay and each time we returned to the room and used the key for a second time it failed. The staff constantly blamed our party for intentionally demagnetizing keys - ridiculous accusation it's comical Shower did not...
