Tiki Fish n Burgers — Restaurant in Miami Beach

I don’t know what was happening in the kitchen today but the service was insanely poor. I watched 3 tables leave because they either weren’t being served or their food took too long. And no, they were not busy. From the time we ordered until the time food arrived (a simple burger and chicken ceasar wrap) it was an hour and 15 minutes. (Not exaggerating, I happened to look down when we ordered to check the time because they serve breakfast until 1pm and it was 12:42. Our food arrived at 1:55). The guy came to talk to us about 30 minutes into our wait and said our food would be right out. After an hour I had to walk up to the bar and ask what was taking so long. 10 minutes later he told us another 5-10 minutes. He was apologetic but told me the wait was because “our patties are fresh so it takes time”. Friends, it takes 8 minutes to cook a medium burger. We also randomly got sweet potato fries instead of regular - no clue why. No manager in sight, and no one else came to talk to us to apologize or give an explanation. We were one of 3 tables inside and the other two were talking about paying for their drinks and leaving, they had places to be. To the server, as a former bar manager - communication goes a long way. Avoiding us or not checking on the food until we asked is bananas. To the manager, if you know your kitchen is struggling you should personally be checking on tables. Don’t know how the place has such good reviews, if the service we got today is the norm.

$54.00 for a burger, a wrap, an iced tea ($7.00!?!?) and a can of coke. 20% service charge is included so…there’s that. 😒

I live nearby and eat out almost daily, so I was hoping to add this spot at the Circa 39 Hotel to my list. Unfortunately, it won’t make the cut.

The place was mostly empty when I arrived. No one greeted me, so I grabbed a menu and sat outside. It took 15 minutes to place my order—just a salad and an iced tea. The tea didn’t arrive for another 15 minutes (30 minutes total), and the glass was packed solid with ice—gone in three sips. I asked for a refill. The salad came five minutes later, as did the refill, which was again mostly ice. Both were average at best.

When I went inside to pay (the server never returned), I was stunned: $14 for iced tea—almost $20 after tax and the automatic 20% service charge. That’s for a tea and refill that didn’t even equal one proper glass. The total for a basic salad and iced tea? $51.

The receipt still had a blank tip line, even though service was already included. That’s a classic Miami Beach trick aimed at tourists or anyone not reading carefully. (At honest places, staff mention the included service. Here, they said nothing and didn’t offer a receipt—I had to ask. The server rang it up and waited for me to tap my card without even showing the total.)

Disappointing overall: slow service, overpriced basics, and zero transparency. I...

Worst place I've eaten at in miami so far.

1. waited to be seated as the sign suggest. No one came, so I sat myself and grabbed a menu.

2. the waitress eventually came out. She was kind enough to let me order something off the lunch menu as breakfast was winding down, I appreciate that. I don feel was very attentive. I eventually asked for water once the meal came out.

3. the sandwhich was just nasty. Overloaded with condiments and tartar sauce. You couldn't hold it because it was sliding all over the place. When you bite Into the sandwhich, it just oozes of tartar sauce all over the place and in your mouth. You cant even taste the fish. So I tried to just wipe the fish off and eat the fish. No seasoning at all and the fries were stale. There was no saving this sandwhich.

4. prior to the sandwhich i ordered a smoothie. It was not like a smoothie at all. Water like constancy and takes like sweet milk.

5. after I told her i dont want the sandwhich, She did ask if I want another one or to get new bread...I passed on it.

6. they did not try to make it right besides offering me another sandwhich. 47.00 for food I couldn't really eat, did not enjoy and im still hungry. Just go to the tavern next to it. That's where I usually go but was trying to try...
