Bentino's — Restaurant in Miami Township

Where do I even begin? The hospitality shown to our 10 second graders (excited about it being the last day of school) by every single staff member was astounding! Their patience, kindness, and superb service is why Bentino’s is such a community staple! Not to mention the delicious pizza and (new to us) cheesecake brownies!

We brought our small crowd in around 11 AM and staff members welcomed all of us with smiles, a listening ear, and the thoughtfulness to tune the TV to cartoons (though later the kiddos wanted NBA lol). Seriously - 2 different staff members one on the carryout / pinball machine side and another on the dine in side BOTH changed the TVs without a single person asking - they simply wanted the kiddos to enjoy their environment! When one of our littles got the idea for dessert, the fella working the dine in side (I wish I got his name) offered to cut them into 1/4 pieces for the kids to split. I mean…I just can’t praise them enough.

This was an order for delivery. Overall the pizza was not bad and could have been really good but there were issues with service and quality. The first issue was with the woman that took the order on the phone. The online menu clearly has coupons that waive the delivery fee but the woman that took the order refused to honor them. She said that perhaps they were for one of the their other locations . Perhaps the other locations have the coupons but so did the Yellow Springs location. Delivery time was quoted as being an hour. It was closer to 1 1/2 hours. While the pizza was decent, it was only lukewarm. I’m sure it would have been better at the restaurant and right out of the oven but we did not feel like venturing out again. Visited Bentino's in Yellow Springs for the first time. Called order in and was told it would be ready in 35 minutes. Arrived a bit early, but since no other customers were in there and only one car in lot, we went in to pick up. Nope. Not ready yet. Was just over 45 minutes before it was ready. Not sure why since even the delivery driver didn't seem busy. Drove home with my order to find that my large pizza was way too done on the crust with the cheese on crust burnt. Every single sun dried tomato on the pizza was black. Totally incinerated. The veggie hoagies were good though. If I didn't live do far away, believe me, I would have been back with my pizza to complain. I ate two pieces and the rest is going into the trash. What a waste!
