Parking: Sufficient for this small restaurant (the kitchen takes up 3/4 of the place). Service: Adequate but you can get better at Chick-Fil-A. Ambiance: nothing special Bathroom: clean

I've been hankering Chinese and, after my supremely disappointing experience at Chinatown Buffet, I was hopeful because my sister and bro-in-law said that No 1 Kitchen is good. My 10-yo son treated us!

The first thing that you experience is visual and olfactory. When I stepped in, there was a mild smell of sewer that my kids didn't notice. There are about 6 tables out front and you can see the kitchen clear to the back, so you can kind of observe them. There are a modest number of oriental decorations, and a lighted signboard above the front counter displays several of the choices on the menu (but there are many, many more).

My son ordered 3 types (chicken, pork and beef) of lo mein, all of which tasted very nice (but not entirely identical). My daughter had Dragon & Phoenix, which is batter-fried chicken in sweet & sour sauce, and steamed(?) shrimp in spicy sauce. It also was very tasty. I really didn't care for egg foo young in Indonesia (fu yung hai) as it was a lot denser and didn't have the variety of veggies here, and the sauce was a red sauce, so I decided to order that. It came with a healthy portion of the brown sauce (which was good but could've used more sesame oil) and 3 of the fried patties. I enjoyed it but wish they'd have made the sauce more flavorful. We also got steamed dumplings (wontons) with the sweet and salty sauce, which were very tasty, too. I had their hot & sour soup, too, which was ok but not the best I've had. All in all, it was a very satisfying meal for all of us, but I didn't like that the sauces and gravies were all served in carry-out containers. They didn't know of a very popular Chinese dish in Indonesia called cap cay, which is probably called something else in Mandarin. They have a local girl who helps with cashiering but the rest of them are all Chinese - I believe they're from one family who came here from southeastern China near Taiwan - Fuzhou I think.

I can't say that this is the best Chinese food I've ever had but it's worth visiting again! Because of the service and smell, I would recommend bringing your own carry-out containers (they use styrofoam) and taking it home. However, if you'd like to chat with Chinese people, they are certainly willing to talk but there is a...

My Dr and I ordered here for the first time today and we both can agree the name does not speak for itself. I ordered the house egg foo young, bourbon chicken platter added shrimp and a order of crab ragoon. First off the egg foo young was horrible. It was extremely greasy and they did not put any seasonings on the entree at all, so it was just a plain omelette with veggies.the egg was soggy and very little meat, with a whole lot of vegetables, would not recommend for anyone. Second was the bourbon chicken add shrimp. The chicken was delicious however the rice had onions but no peas and carrots so if your looking for traditional fried rice, don't look here. Oh and also I paid an additional $2 for shrimp and they only gave me one, so don't pay for extras cause they ain't giving it to you. The crab ragoon was ok but no crab meat just cream cheese. They seem to cut a lot of corners to save them money, so Do not go here with high expectations cause you will be disappointed. You can definitely find a better Chinese restaurant that deserves the name/title...

We ordered food from here last night and it was disgusting. The noodles were flavorless and dry. The crab rangoons were as cheaply made and undercooked as they could be. The egg rolls look like the have something fake inside. Imitation something that's for sure. We complained about how nasty everything was and asked for our money back. The asian lady at the front laughed in our faces and told us that was what is was supposed to taste like. I told her I've had these dishes before and they taste awful. She refused to give us our money back or make us any more food. Even though I was asking extremely polite, they refused to even give us our money back. I'm extremely pissed at this business, we ended up leaving all of our food sitting there and walking out without touching any of it. They are horrible people. Horrible character. No values. They do not belong...

I prefer brown sauce over white and they have no problem with making your food with your choice of sauce, like chow mein. Our first visit. We tried the House special chow mein & Hot n' sour soup. The portions are large enough to share. Look forward to trying more from the menu. Second visit we tried Pineapple chicken & Coconut shrimp. I can see myself craving the coconut shrimp, crazy good. Third visit we tried Seafood soup, Shrimp chow mein (good but liked House special more). We have been back more times and everything has been tasty.

This was my first time trying food at this establishment, and I can truly say that I will never eat here again. I ordered the shrimp mei fun, and this was the worst meal I've ever had. First off, they gave me 90% pasta, maybe 8 shrimp, 8% vegetables and eggs, and 2% sauce. This was dry, tasteless, and cold. I had to remove paste just to get to the shrimp and vegetables. The only pleasure i had was my egg roll. I paid over $16 for a total disappointment. Please think twice before buying food here.
