I have had my blood pressure spiked pretty high over my last 2 experiences with the bakery department. On March 1 I went to pick up a preordered half sheet cake for my husband's birthday & was given a 1/4 sheet cake instead. After locating a manager & explaining the situation, he gave me an additional 1/4 cake @ no charge to make up the difference. It wasn't what I ordered but I appreciated the attempt to make me whole. I advised the manager@ this time I would be making another cake order for my daughter's 16th birthday party in a couple weeks for March 17, I just wanted to insure the order would be correct because teenage girls are not as forgiving as my adult counterparts who attended my husband's birthday. I left work early@ 6p to get to Meijer to pick up my daughter's cake in time for her party start @ 7p on March 17. After standing@ the counter of the bakery for several minutes with no assistance, I picked up my cell phone to call the store & advised the person@ customer service I was in the bakery & needed assistance. A young lady appeared shortly after from somewhere behind me & apologized for the delay. After giving her the order I was there to pick up, she looked for several more minutes in different areas & returned explaining there was no cake made for my order. She showed me on a tablet where the order was placed and the details of the order but the was not filled for some reason. After a while & several apologies from the young lady, a manager appears & I filled him in oby now desperate situation. The manger retraced the young ladies steps & checked everywhere for the missing cake to no avail. He then offered to fill my order right then & there & asked if I could give him a few mins to do so. I had no choice so of course I agreed. I watched as the manager Joe scrambled to find supplies & employees who were familiar with filling a cake order. The original young lady stood with me while explaining she would love to decorate the cake for me but that she was not yet allowed to do such a task since working there. After the manager was unsuccessful in finding an experienced cake decorator for the task, the young lady who stood with me was finally given the task to icing & decorate my new frozen sheet cake from the walk in. She immediately jumped into action. After about 30ins, the manager returned to me holding the now packed sheet cake. He informed me there would be no charge for the cake & he also handed me a $50 gift card to apologise for my inconvenience. After examining the finished cake, I was in complete shock that the cake was decorated absolutely perfectly!!! More so than any cake I had purchased from Meijer in many past years. The order was filled to my original specifics & the boarder, daisies & lettering where very proffesionally executed. I told the young lady that she needs to inform her manager that she needs to be the new cake decorator permanently. I had 2 trying times with my Milford Meijer in less than a month. What I appreciate is the people who were not responsible for the mistake, handled me with great compassion and understanding. Their customer service is top notch. I think Meijer had the best tasting birthday of any grocery store chain I have ever ordered from & I would hate to discontinue my bakery relationship over a couple of mess ups. I am, however very nervous to order for my son's & grandsons birthdays next month because there is no guarantee my order will be filled or correct since I happened not once, but twice. I gave 4 stars for the young lady in the bakery and Joe the manager. The order taker & bakery manager would receive -75 if it were offered as an option. Olivia...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTwo things: I Donāt purchase things from Meijer a lot, so when I say that this is happened five times statistically Iām saying it has happened a lot. I pick up items on sale. I go to check out and the product doesnāt ring up on sale. For the most part employees have been pretty good about just taking care of it, however, The opposite is often true. Today, a lady who already looked kind of like she was done argue with me and said that the items always have Stickers on them. Thatās not true. I offered it very nicely because I could tell she was tired to go take a photo of The sale because it was actually on the rail of the shoe, so there was not really a mistake to be made. Knowing Iāve had issues with this in the past, I had already actually looked at the tag and verified it said The pink shoes on it. She seemed very put out that I was gonna go and do that even though it meant no extra work because she was in the self check out I would be walking. When I came back, she had switched out with somebody else which was kind of offputting, and I felt a little intentional because As soon as I walked away, She took off. Honestly, this shouldnāt be kind of normal. Fix your system. I have never had this issue at any other Meijer. I go to save for one time in colerain. I hate that I have to go in there and actually make sure that I am watching every single item ring up. I donāt feel that way at Kroger or Walmart And honestly, it canāt be that hard. Iām pretty sure there are regulations about making sure your stuff is labeled correct at the store.
Honestly, I understand the policy, but at the same time when youāre not doing anything wrong, itās a pain in the butt. I, for the first time in years, bought Myself something new. They donāt have changing areas anymore for you to try things on. So I got home and it was too big. I brought it back with the tag But I think I forgot to pick up the receipt from the store. I didnāt have it. We have five cards. I had two on me and I guess they just werenāt the ones that used buy the dress. My autistic son was having a meltdown so we just left. Honestly, if someone legitimately has the tag, comes in with the dress from the exit I really donāt understand why we canāt even do a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSo as a frequent shopper at this store, I can assure you it is very poorly run much like local Krogers but this particular Meijer store always manages to somehow be just a little worse. Went to pick up a few grocery essentials tonight and store had shut down entire aisles of grocery on both sides of aisle to wax floors while store was open which meant I couldn't get half the stuff I needed. The mental gymnasts (the managers) thought that this waxing floors plan was their best course of action instead of maybe keeping parts of each aisle open they just decided to shut down 1/3 of grocery...it's not like the floors are ever clean at this store anyway. I just wanted to buy some dang groceries after work. Pathetic management team here. But from a distance I could see some of the items I wanted were out of stock on shelf anyway...poor poor poor. The managers who should care were likely gone by 4pm and the late shift managers just try to make excuses for incompetent planning. So tired of the poor day to day operations at this location. For the love of all that is holy get some managers with some common sense, strong work ethic and who want their customers to have a good experience. The managers could have spot mopped the sections they closed and the floor all over the rest of the store looked God awful anyway. News flash your floor wax isn't fooling anyone. If cleanliness is important to the management team they should help keep it clean all the time. Not just once every 3 months when they are trying to show how "fresh" the store is. The best Meijer stores do the little things everyday to make sure the customers enjoy their shopping experience. This location misses the mark. The Loveland and Eastgate Meijers are far from perfect but are probably worth the extra drive time..this one is not...so in short shop elsewhere until they get a new...
