Panera Bread — Restaurant in Miami Township

Been going to Panera since it opened on Sundays after church. For the past three months, it has gone horribly down hill! They have not had a plain bagel to buy at 11:00am for the past three months. Often they don't even have a cinnamon crunch either! The bagel inventory on a Sunday morning is pathetic. When asked if they have more, the responses have been as follows; No, you should have gotten here earlier. Ummm, no I don't think so. One particular Sunday, I arrived an hour earlier and was excited to see four plain bagels in the bin. I stepped up and ordered them, paid for them but by the time the server got around to getting them, another server had sold them to someone else... really! I think that when your inventory gets to a certain point, you should be making more. I have tried to order them ahead of time online, only to be told that they do not have them when I got there to pick them up. This Sunday I drove to another Panera in Symmes Township only to find the exact same thing. Spoke to the manager there and he said he was getting ready to make more. A little late in my opinion, given the fact that it takes over an hour according to him to make bagels and the bins were empty. Will try Einstein Bros. or Everything Bagel from now on. Three months is more than long enough to get your act together, which they apparently care nothing...

My order is NEVER on the to go shelf. It doesn’t matter how long after it’s “ready” that I wait. Things the only location where it will say the food is ready and it’s not. Pretty much always the same girl at the counter. She sets orders on a cart behind her but she’s always doing something when I come in and just asks customers to wait. I get it, but why are the orders not just put in the shelf? They’ll be completely ready to go and just sitting out of reach. Kind of defeats the purpose of rapid pick up. That’s my biggest issue. I don’t have it at any other location so I don’t think it’s an issue that can’t be rectified.

Also, I usually sit in the booths and there’s just constant negative talk and complaining about life or work, customers or each other around the order pick up area. A one off here and there is one thing but the AM shift is kind of constant some days. It gets grating sometimes. Especially because I can’t always tune it out. I’ve seen people crying or arguing multiple times. It’s just kind of a messy work...

I have visited here now a few times. I love the bagels and croissants are delicious. I have tried the dark roast coffee and I love strong coffee. It's definitely good. They also offer a variety of foods, other coffees and teas. I enjoy coming here to read also and sitting by the fireplace I am cold a lot so it almost instantly warms me up. It has been really cold lately. Only thing the fireplace is so cozy I feel myself falling asleep a bit. Lol. So I suppose it's a great place for a nap too but ya gotta try to play that off. Lol. I'm teasing maybe I can just tell them I have that thing that makes ya fall asleep standing up which shhhh I really have done that before after a night of not much sleep it wasn't my fault. OK seriously come by and give Panera a try and don't forget that...
