Sonia Seafood: A Seafood Lover's Paradise with Some Misses
Located in the heart of Miami, Sonia Seafood offers a delightful culinary experience for seafood enthusiasts. From the moment you step in, the ambiance exudes a welcoming coastal charm, complemented by attentive service that makes you feel right at home.
Ambiance and Service: The restaurant's atmosphere is cozy yet vibrant, perfect for both casual dining and special occasions. The staff at Sonia Seafood are exemplary, with their knowledge of the menu and genuine enthusiasm for ensuring a pleasant dining experience. From recommendations on fresh catches to accommodating special requests, their service truly stands out.
Seafood Selection: Now, let's talk about the star of the show – the seafood. Sonia Seafood excels in bringing the freshest catches to your table. Whether you opt for the succulent lobster tail, perfectly grilled salmon, or their signature seafood platter, each dish bursts with flavor and is impeccably prepared. The quality of the seafood is top-notch, making it a haven for seafood aficionados in Miami.
Hits and Misses: While Sonia Seafood shines in seafood preparation, the same cannot be said for their steak and churrasco offerings. Unfortunately, these dishes fell short in flavor, lacking the robustness and seasoning that would have elevated them to the same standard as their seafood counterparts. It's evident that seafood is their forte, and perhaps sticking to their specialty is the best course of action.
Overall Impression: Despite the slight misstep with the non-seafood dishes, Sonia Seafood remains a must-visit for anyone craving exceptional seafood in Miami. The ambiance, impeccable service, and standout seafood offerings more than compensate for any shortcomings. Whether you're a local resident or visiting Miami, Sonia Seafood promises a memorable dining experience that celebrates the bounty of the sea.

Read moreWe just celebrated my daddy's 96 birthday. Pedro Daniel, was the server that took care of our table and helped us with other party details. Pedro Daniel was more than awesome and he definitely exceeded our expectations. He is an asset to this restaurant. The food was incredible. The music was great. We loved it!
The only complaint I have, is their management staff. I called and personally went to the restaurant to make arrangements, two weeks before. I asked about deposits, capacity of the restaurant in terms of how many people it can hold. I asked if I can decorate, bring balloons et cetera et cetera et cetera. I was told by management that, yes, my fifty guests would be accommodated. I did not have to leave a deposit. The balloons and the cake, everything would be fine, and they would help me decorate, which they did. Angelica and Pedro Daniel helped my husband and I decorate, again, they were awesome.
So I confirmed the number of people and kept calling to make sure everything was taken care of, I was assured it was.
Two days before the event, the head director or manager calls me and tells me that a deposit of two thousand dollars was required, but not to worry that he was not going to charge me. He asked me to please come in on that day, or the next day to speak about the decorations, and the people coming. Needless to say, I was worried and very nervous. Not only had I told everyone the location, the time, but I had people coming in from out of town. When we came in to speak to this gentleman, the day before, he asked if possible, for a deposit of a thousand dollars to which I said no, not possible. Needless to say this was very upsetting. We still love Sonia's Seafood Market and Restaurant, and my father absolutely loved his birthday celebration. I just think that management has to be retrained and better organized when it comes to large parties. Their business etiquette has to change, definitely, very very poor. I can understand if I didn't ask the questions pertaining to deposits, capacity and other, but I...

The result is a dining experience that feels both personalized and authentic, with the freshness of the ocean on every plate.
The variety of fish and shellfish available is remarkable—snapper, grouper, shrimp, lobster, clams, and so much more.
