Went here with my family during a short vacation. Reviews on google were good and we were excited for good food. When we got there we sat down first and looked at the menu. We noticed the table was very dusty and the high chair was very sticky. No big deal, wiped them off with wipes I had on hand. Upon more inspection we noticed food on the floor, food at several tables, and cleaning materials left on another table. We figured maybe they got busy and couldn't finish but the place was empty, it was 5pm, and we were starting to feel like we should leave. The last straw was after ordering our food I went to get a drink from the soda machine. As I went to get ice I noticed green on the ice spout. Looking closer the green sludge was covering the whole ice spout and we decided we didnt want whatever came out of the kitchen if the soda machine looked like that. My husband worked in food service for many years and had NEVER seen a dirtier soda machine. We luckily got a refund and left quickly. I wouldn't recommend going there. Its a bummer because we tried to give them the benefit of the doubt up until we left. The space is very nice but very unclean. The woman at the counter was also on the phone while we were ordering which was another turn off. New owners? Bigger space? The space is different than what's on the pictures. Read moreBehind the glass of this little Michigan city burger joint is a surprisingly modern, chill place to sit and enjoy some good food. I was recommended by my boss he states this was the best burger he has ever ate. I came in with high expectations. Our order was as follows; The Royale Burger, ghetto fries, Caesar chicken salad, and a bowl of broccoli cheddar soup. The soup definitely tasted like some time and effort, along with fresh ingredients, were in play. It was super creamy and delicious. The salad was phenomenal the chicken to lettuce ratio was flawless, not too much dressing to make it soggy, and a healthy helping of parmesan cheese. Now the burger was good and brought out flavors I never thought would go well together, but it also was completely immersed in grease. Just from the time she walked it to my table there was a significant puddle of grease. The portion sizes were fairly small for what we paid a whopping $28. The ghetto fries were good, but the beef added little to nothing to the dish. It didn't taste seasoned and just added another layer of grease to already decently greasy fries. Besides leaving feeling like I contracted high cholesterol it was good although I will not return until they either up their portion sizes or lower their prices it was all In all a...
Read moreI'm going to start with why I docked 2 stars...they doubled the tip on credit. (A 15% tip was left and it came out over 30%). Normally, cash tips are left, but this isn't an actual table service type place. It is more like a place your order and they bring the food out, self serve drinks type of place. Now, that being said, I thoroughly enjoyed my burger, the ghetto fries were decent if you like loaded fries, and the lady I placed my order with was incredibly kind. The regular fries were mediocre, kids meals were average priced, and the caprese salad I got was decent, but the presentation was cute. I wanted to love this place, but stealing is against my morals, and doubling a tip is wrong, but even more irritating when there isn't an abundance of table service provided. (The ladies sat at the counter basically the entire time and just delivered the food then cleared the table after we left I assume). It was fast service and the food wasn't bad enough to not return, but the stealing money is enough to not return...especially considering everything is à la carte...
