After a long day out with the family, we had decided to stop in at this diner to finish everything off with a nice dinner, unfortunately it was anything but. The only reason I haven't given it 1 star, is because the waitress we had was wonderful. She looked a bit like Maizie Williams, and was very kind to us; the food and management however was not as nice. I had ordered some fried chicken, and what I got was rather sad looking wings that looked so tiny, we were laughing about it. They were REALLY small portions for 15 bucks. my brother had chicken fingers cooked in what tasted like old grease with nasty batter, and the French toast one of us had was LAYERED in nutmeg and/or cinnamon. It tasted purely of nutmeg, and none of us could eat it. When we let the waitress know, she took it back, and then out came the manager.
The manager seemed to be out to 'prove us wrong' about what was in the French toast. The issue was that there was so much of whatever was on it, you couldn't taste anything else, but she was determined to tell us that it was all cinnamon and NOT nutmeg. She brought out their can and poured it all over to prove us wrong (even though it looked like powdered nutmeg.) She totally pushed the wrong issue, they type of powder rather than how much of it was used, and by the end of it, we all just nodded along because she obviously wasnt listening. All of the food was just 'okay' but when we dealt with the disgruntled manager, that's when we were tired of the place. We got the check, saw that the nasty french toast was NOT removed then said screw it because we didnt want another argument with a woman who already gave us a hard time about the type of powder they used too much of, and we wanted to go home. When we checked out, they didnt even give us the loose change. Like 80 cents we just didnt recieve. My dad (the one who paid) held that fact until a couple of miles away because he was tired and didnt want the fight. None of us did after a tiring family day.
This place, however nice the staff, isnt worth it in my opinion. We will not be returning to this diner, as the management was rude and argumentative, as well as cheap enough to keep the food we hated and didnt eat on the receipt, and then skimped us on our change as we were trying to get the heck out. NOT recommended; find...
Read moreWe came in for a roughly 6:30ish dinner on a Saturday. There was no wait, we were seated quickly (less than 5 mins). Then, we proceeded to sit for about 10-15 mins looking over the menu and never bring approached by a server. My parents said this was unusual, but then laughed about how this had happened to them before, too. Eventually, my mom made eye contact with the hostess, and we were waited on by a very friendly server. No apologies about being essentially forgotten about (people who were seated after us were being waited on before us) or anything like that which I guess is fine, but then after taking our orders it took over 30 mins to get the food. No one has anything involved it was wrap, salad, chili, burger, omelette, so something that shouldn't have taken over a half hour. Also, as we sat, the diner slowly dwindled in activity so it's also not like the kitchen was slammed. My dad made a comment about it taking an unusually long time for the food to come out.
Eventually we were able to get boxes and packed our food. My husband, son and I left to the parking lot while my parents hung back for the check. After a few mins my dad joins us, and after several more minutes I go back inside to see if my mom's gotten the check yet. No. I want to say something to the hostess bc it seems like she's also management, but I can't because she's deep in conversation with customers who are paying and leaving. So deep in conversation that after another several minutes my mom is able to wave down the server and request the check. Never once did the hostess say "I'm sorry I'll be right with you" or anything like that.
Quite honestly, the food was great, but the service sucked so bad you couldn't pay me to continue patronizing this establishment. Most any diner can make a decent wrap and burger. It's the people, the atmosphere that keep you coming back and if I'm going to be ignored and forgotten about for an hour and expected to leave good tips and keep coming back for more, then I'm the only one losing out here. We sat down sometime between 6:15-6:30 and I started this review at 7:45 complete exasperated with this diner. So save yourself the headache and hit another diner. Or get take-out, or roll the dice and maybe have a...
Read moreWorst service EVER!!! I actually thought I was being pranked,Came for breakfast with a client(white) of mine. When setting the table the busser (mexican) was very precise with my clients cutlery, all his cutleries were set right, then when it came to mine, only the spoon was on top of the napkin then the rest were way outside with the knife facing horizontally and the fork vertically, realized what was happening but i just ignored it.Then it came to ordering, the server (white lady) came took our order,I was the lady on the table but she opted to take my client's order first and then when it came to me,she wasn't even paying attention.I just ended up ordering a mug of cappuccino, they brought our orders, and as I was sipping on my cappuccino I noticed my mug was so chipped and had a massive crack and I could literally see a small chip almost falling out. I showed it to my client and we both agreed to atleast get the cappuccino mug changed...I politely told the waiter and even before I could finish explaing she took the mug and went walking away with some hand gestures as I was talking to her and changed it to a regular coffee cup. It was only fluffed cream on that cup and less than a quarter cup of the "cappuccino" . I was so mad and furious with the place and ofcourse I would never go back or even suggest it to anybody and especially any black person... This is the first time I'm writting a review on any place I've been to,and personally I'm a very loving person but this right here really threw me off and got me...
