Wow. Just wow. Around 7pm on Saturday, my wife, daughter, and I stopped by Scott Brothers BBQ at The Lot in Middleton for dinner—and it absolutely blew us away.
I wasn't sure what to expect when we first opened our takeout, but holy smokes—the brisket was incredible. Perfectly tender, flavorful, and paired with a sauce that tasted unmistakably homemade. You could taste the molasses, the vinegar, and every carefully balanced element in it. It was next-level.
The ribs? Equally amazing. Not overly sweet, just the right amount of glaze and smoke. Even the pickles stood out—we ordered them on the side, and they were phenomenal. My wife is a pickle enthusiast, and she was seriously impressed. Our daughter couldn't stop eating them either.
And then there was the mac and cheese, which we initially got for our daughter—but after one bite, I was hooked. You can tell they made a proper roux. This wasn’t your run-of-the-mill mac and cheese; it was creamy, rich, and clearly crafted with care.
Everything we had was absolutely top-tier. I genuinely can’t wait to go back and try more. Scott Brothers BBQ has officially made it onto my list of top BBQ spots in Massachusetts. A+++++, highly recommended.
Also, shout out to the guy taking our order and explaining some of the menu items to us. Super friendly staff!!! You'll be...
Read moreNot very good. We had heard good things so went there as we love BBQ we checked it out. This was massively disappointing. The ribs were honestly bad, like straight up not good, they were dry, chewy and didn't fall off the bone and had mediocre flavor. The brisket was better than the ribs, but it wasn't hot (I get BBQ has to be prepared in advanced but the meat shouldn't be served at room temperature) . The sweet sauce is WAY too sweet and the cornbread had an odd flavor can't quite put my finger on. I love BBQ but neither my wife nor I even finish our meals because it was that bad.
Overall I would avoid this spot, it's roughly the quality of cheap chain BBQ for a higher price, we spent 89 dollars, including tip.
In fairness one of the guys asked how the meal was, I told him and he didn't make excuses and apologized so I guess...
Read moreFood was highly overpriced. $17 for an extremely dry, underwhelming turkey sandwich with no sides. No smokeyness or barbecue flavor. The sandwich only had meat, two slices of pickles, and two onion slices on the side. The mustard sauce was on the side in an open sauce cup when it was packaged “to go”. Luckily, I noticed before driving and pre-poured the sauce on the sandwich so the sauce cup wouldn’t fall and be completely wasted in transit. Not nearly enough sauce to make the sandwich edible. Extremely hard to get the dry meat down the hatch. Not sure why there is not one negative review here, maybe low food standards in Middleton. Safe to say I do not recommend wasting money here & I would...
