BURGER KING 858 RT 35 MIDDLETOWN NJ IF YOU WANT TO AVOID FOOD POISONING, YOU MAY WANT TO RECONSIDER GOING HERE. 2/6/24 update: On 2/4/24 I called and spoke to GM "Payton" who was very nice, apologized and advised she'd be in all day on 2/5/24 (when my husband would be up that way for work) for our refund. Unfortunately, my husband's work truck became disabled due to a mechanical issue and he was unable to go in for the refund so he went in today, 2/6/24, and the female manager on duty (NO NAME GIVEN) advised there was "No note, etc." for her "to refund!" WHY IS A NOTE NECESSARY ANYWAY WHEN ONE HAS A RECEIPT! I called afterward and asked the unnamed manager", "So you have no way to contact Payton, your General Manager? We're owed $25.01." The woman on the phone advised she'd call me back. Awaiting call. 2/3/24 (Sat.) at approx. 5-50:15 pm my husband and I went inside and ordered food. NO PAPER TOWELS TO DRY ONES' HANDS IN THE BATHROOM SO I HAD TO USE TOILET PAPER TO DRY MY HANDS AND OPEN THE DOOR HANDLE. (HAND SANITIZER IN CAR.) I had ordered and left to go to the ladies' room. My husband paid and did not get a receipt. When we saw the woman who works there walking in as we entered (with whom we placed our order thereafter), returning inside from bringing a man's order to his truck, I remarked that this "was a good sign because everything will be nice and hot." What a joke. We ordered a new Whopper Candied Bacon sandwich, and 2: 8 pc cheesy tots and an original chicken sandwich. We thought for sure since we waited almost 15 minutes for the food that it would guarantee freshness. NOT. We left and each of us remarked that our sandwiches weren't even lukewarm and the cheesy tots were dried and saggy from being under the warmer too long. I called and advised the woman answering, whose name she did not provide, but who sounded to be the woman with whom we'd placed order that we had "just been in there and waited almost 15 minutes" and "how dare you guys serve us old food for $25!". I also advised we were bringing the food right back to them for a full refund! ----- DISGUSTING!!! Because the highway's jug handle was a good ways down, it took us a little bit to get back there. My husband went inside with the bag and the woman who waited on us printed out a receipt which said "duplicate" on it (funny that we never got the original) and advised she could not refund my husband because there was a problem with their machine. Then she advised my husband would have to, "Come back in tomorrow and speak to the big boss (singular) because they'll (plural) be in, then". NO WAY. WE ARE NOT GOING BACK INSIDE. WE LIVE CLOSE TO 30 MINUTES AWAY. Avoid this place if you don't want to potentially end up sick since quality and freshness are not important to them AND they must not be washing their hands when they go to the bathroom if nobody noticed there were no paper towels in the ladies room. *There were 2 ladies behind in the food station + the lady who advised their drive through is not working and was wearing a headset who took or order. Read moreThis was by far the worst fast food experience I’ve ever had — and the first time I’ve dealt with something like this in any restaurant in my life.
The staff here, especially one older lady, treated me with complete disrespect. She assumed that because I’m not white, I must be a DoorDash or Uber Eats delivery driver. On top of that, she clearly had no idea how the Burger King app even works. I placed my order through the app (since the dining room was closed and that’s the only way to order aside from the drive-thru), and instead of simply preparing my food, she acted like I should “magically know” when it’s ready and get it myself.
When I pulled up, she told me to stay at the drive-thru speaker so she wouldn’t “get in trouble” for being slow with my order — even though there was no one behind me. Rather than making my food right away, she wasted time explaining things that had nothing to do with me. Eventually, after I was told to circle back to the speaker again, she finally gave me my order and smiled like she had done something difficult.
This kind of unprofessional, rude, and discriminatory behavior is unacceptable. It’s not about being “in the mood to work” — it’s literally your job to take care of customers. This location doesn’t deserve more than 1 star because of...
Read moreNothing has changed in over a year. They understaff, making only 2 to 3 people work there, at best. The Sandwiches look like someone punched them first to flatten them. The cheese has changed, whatever it is, is cheaper than what it used to be, which was already cheap. (I'm not surprised, the franchise owner loves to cut as many corners as he can, he has now for well over 10 years and the customers/employees suffer for it.). I'm done going here, they've ruined my meals and orders so many times it's countless now. They offer to remake them, but it's EVERY TIME. If it was made with a few extra minutes of care the first time, it wouldn't be an issue.
