The staff here is completely apathetic and uncaring. They claim to offer business amenities, internet, and wifi. They don't tell you on the booking site that the wifi is completely open and unsecured making it impossible to safely connect any corporate devices or even to access financial information on your connected phones without the threat of it being stolen. Unsecured wifi is a relic from over a decade at least and any place of business, especially one that states their business amenities. They should be embarrassed that they still offer such unsafe, dangerous, and antiquated technology. Beware if you use this wifi that all of the information you enter while using it is at risk. Do not access banking apps, do not put in credit card information and do not enter passwords. The vast majority of hotels (and everyone) moved away from this many years ago. I guess it was my fault for assuming that they wouldn't be 10 years behind on cybersecurity.
On top of this, the front desk folk told me I was SOL. When I asked to speak to a manager, they said they would text her. I heard nothing. They then shrugged their shoulders and ignored me. I finally reached out to corporate (who I have to look up as they stated they didn't have that number.....BS) who apologized profusely. They reached out to the hotel and I watched as the front desk folks refused to answer the calls as I sat there. I guess they thought if they ignored it, it would go away. I then decided to begin to record our conversation, mainly to provide to corporate, not to publicly shame anyone, but these juvenile and unprofessional actions should be known. As soon as I did, one person walked off and the other repeatedly lied stating she couldn't contact the general manager. Then, 30 seconds later, she contacted the general manager.....which she could have done the entire time. The general manager was about on the same level as the front desk folks and said that sucks and that they have "business people all the time using the unsecured network" which is either another lie or someone who doesn't understand how easy it is to steal information. Their IT departments would not be happy with them AT ALL.
So here I am, left with an unsecured network on a Sunday night when I have an important all-day meeting tomorrow morning from 8:30am-3pm. I did not once raise my voice, I did let them know my frustration with the front desk people who ghosted, lied to and ignored me, but my composure was maintained. I can't say as much for the front desk or general manager who didn't care at all and got snippy or walked away and ignored the issue.
Seems like a good hotel other than the staff and amenities, but please please please, from someone with a decent tech background, do not risk your personal information by...
Read moreI am very disappointed in this hotel. I spent 3 nights there and the rooms were expensive. I needed a hotel in the area because I came from out of state, for a relative's funeral. My room was on the first floor by an entrance door and people were very noisy up till midnight in the hall. I took a shower the first night stay and the sliding shower door would not stay closed. The suction strip was no longer working so I had to use my right foot to hold the door shut while showering. I reported it the next morning. They moved me that evening five rooms down on the first floor. When I tried to open the door with my room card key, I could not get it open. I had to get the young man at the desk to open it. You had to push hard on the door using a man's force to open it. In this room, the commode flushing sounded like an airplane taking off. It was loud and ran (to fill back up with water in the inside tank) for about 4 minutes. I thought it was going to be a problem. I had to shut the bathroom door overnight to keep the noise contained. The second day (Monday), I came back from a funeral in the early afternoon. I had a knock on my door and the cleaning lady asked me, in broken English, why I was in this room. I wasn't supposed to be in this room and checked out. I told her I was in 102 and that I got moved to 107. I told her I am staying through Tuesday morning. Then I went to the front desk with my proof of three night stay. The clerk on duty never switched me to the new room in their system the night before! The daytime clerk then corrected it and never apologized for the mistake. I went back to my room and guess what? My room card did not work! The cleaning lady was in the hall and tried her card. It opened just fine (with the shove in addition). I went back to the front desk and told the clerk that my cards were not working. He activated new ones and switched out my two room cards. Again, not an apology. The commode got quieter with use which I was thankful for on my last night and there were a couple of annoying flies in the room that I didn't succeed in getting. Otherwise I did get a peaceful night's sleep on my last night after dealing with noisy people in the hall the first two nights. For $185.00 a night, which was pricey, and all this aggrevation, I will never...
Read moreNice version of a budget friendly place where it is still nice to stay!!
My room was small, but clean and comfortable with all the amenities: microwave, fridge, USB charging ports by the bed, power strip on the desk, free wifi, NICE shower, comfy bed, TV with lots of channels and usable guide, really nice headboard lamps with directional reading lights, etc. Really above and beyond for this price point. Also the staff was VERY friendly, and the free breakfast was good with a typical selection.
The only thing that bothered me at all was the Heating/Cooling unit.
Lots of other hotels have digital controls that let you simply select the temperature you want and be done with it. Having repeatedly tweak the ANALOG control to find the sweet spot wasn't ideal, but after an hour it was no longer an issue. So no points off for this.
The thing that made me uncomfortable was a bad mix of two factors.
the AC worked by cycling between fan and REALLY cold air. I didn't have a thermometer, but I'm guessing that while chilling, it was putting out something like 50 degree air. By itself this is not a bad thing! In fact, if you come in hot and sweaty, a cold breeze can be very nice! BUT...
that breeze was aimed directly at the head of the bed!
...I can enjoy sleeping in a cold room under comforters with my head and arms sticking out... But a cold BREEZE is different. I tried barely any AC with just a sheet, and I tried cooler with a sheet and their (very nice and snuggly!!) comforter, but no matter what I did, any part of me exposed to the cold breeze would become uncomfortably chilled and clammy.
On my second night of compromised sleep, I improvised a windbreak using the bed-cover, and after that the room was cozy and I felt right at home and slept like a baby for several more nights.
Probably not all rooms have this issue and without the problem I had to resolve with a windbreak, I would happily be giving them five stars for more than meeting all my (budgety...
