Jersey Mike's Subs — Restaurant in Middletown

Edit: I did reach out to the store and spoke with the owner. She was very kind and offered us a refund. She showed much concern about my current condition and said her and her team are going to go through their cooler and make sure nothing is out of date and that everything is at temp. I changed the star count from a 1 star to a 4 simply because I do not want to punish a small business owner for a one mistake. They have done everything they can do to make this right and I don’t want them to loose business over this. With the CDC unable to make announcements and submit their reports these things will continue to happen. Sorry to get political, I am still very unwell and am just rambling on at this point. Anyway RIP my love for Italian subs. I may never eat one again.

I ate an Italian sub from this location for lunch and then a couple hours later became violently ill. When I say “violently ill” this is no exaggeration. Was so excited to hear that a Jersey Mike’s in Middletown!! Unfortunately not a fan of this location. Have ordered 3 times in the month they have been open & 2 of the 3 times the order has been incorrect & wait times have been insane. Placed an online order & asked for no lettuce on my Italian grinder, thing was loaded with lettuce. Asked for no peppers & onions on the steak & cheese same thing sandwich was loaded with what we asked for none of! Decided to give them another chance & placed another online order at 8pm on a Saturday night, was told pick up time would be 8:15. The place was busy & our order was not ready at the pick up time, no problem don’t mind waiting. We did not receive our food until 8:57pm after asking 3 times where our food was, kept getting told it would be right out. What was super infuriating was we saw no less than 10 people walk in & order & get their food immediately while still waiting for our food. Finally got our food right before closing & not an apology or anything about having to wait almost an hour for our food when it said 15 minutes. Will not be returning to this location & rather just drive up to the Fall...

I don't usually review restaurants, but I needed to take a moment in this case. The team here really just defied my expectations.

I placed a pickup order online, and arrived maybe 10 minutes before it was ready. As I waited, at least three different employees checked in with me to make sure I was being take care of, and checked on the status of my order. Past that, they were all polite about it! The order was made exactly as we put it in, and also was finished exactly on time, despite it being relatively busy. One employee even helpfully pointed out where I could pick up soda and chips, without me asking her for clarification.

This probably all sounds like small stuff, but I'm so used to fast food establishments phoning it in, or being generally jaded about what they're doing. I don't live around Middletown so I won't roll by here too frequently, but this whole staff needs serious kudos, and I'll definitely be checking out other locations in the future.
