I grew up in Middletown and I frequently visit Milton's. Today I learned of the abhorrent, atrocious behavior and business practices that has caused me to not just ever come back, but scream to the heavens about it. I have a close family member who has been working with their church and providing housing and feeding the homeless. This family member went around to the local businesses asking for donations to help with food. Generally, bakeries are very generous as they don't keep old baked goods as they do not keep for long. Milton's not only said no that they wouldn't contribute, but they do throw away their goods, put a lock on their dumpster, and have a camera out back to protect their garbage. A business that would rather throw away product than feed people who need it is absolutely disgusting. My family member also went to the other local bakery in town (I will also write a review for them) and asked them to donate and they were MORE than willing. If you know this area, many people in town are very talkative, and my family member shared with this business about what the church was doing but also about a family that they were currently housing that consisted of a mother and her two young children both of whom had just had recent birthdays. This other bakery not only donated leftover baked goods, but they also donated a birthday cake for these homeless children. Also, when they knew there werenāt candles, they gave us some of those as well saying, "Well they need candles to blow out!" Hearing about these two drastic experiences from these two bakeries, I know which one I would choose to eat at, and one that I would choose never to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI came in to get donuts at 9:30 this morning. They hardly had any donuts at all, no glazed, no frosted, no cinnamon sugar or jelly, nothing classic just some cake donuts and chocolate peanut butter. They had maybe two trays worth of 2 or 3 kinds of donuts total. I asked if they had anymore and the woman was incredibly rude she and the man that were in there were treating me and the other customers like we were such an inconvenience. The man was trying to go outside to smoke which he did immediately after I left right in front of me, and Iām guessing didnāt love that all of a sudden they had business⦠guess thatās why they didnāt make enough donuts, they donāt like having customers apparently. They didnāt explain why, or even apologize for being out of everything⦠I mean at least make up an excuse! It was just so obvious they didnāt want us there. I asked if they would have more later, since they are open until 3pm and it was only 9:30, the woman just said ātomorrowā I guess they wanted to close early today. Iāve never seen this place like this!! It used to be such a happy place to come to in the morning, everyone nice and smiling and racks and racks of donuts! I was really excited to treat myself to some donuts. But I will never come back. If you donāt want to work in customer service,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy husband went early this morning to get a couple dozen donuts for the kiddos for Valentineās Day. He said the place was packed and he waited in line like everyone else. When it was his turn to order, he said he wanted 6 sprinkles with the white icing. There were only 4 left and the woman behind the counter complained and said she didnāt want to give them all to him because there was a regular that would be coming in later and thatās what they always get. Iām sorry, the product was in the case to be sold. There was no ānot for saleā sign near any specific donut, they appeared to all be for sale. I think itās wild that we are told what we can and cannot purchase, because someone later in the day, may have wanted what we selected. Iāve never in my life dealt with something like this. Itās not the first time weāve been treated unkindly at this location. We do return because we do love the donuts. I just wish we could purchase what we want, when we want, and not have to worry about āJoe the Regularā becoming upset because we bought the last sprinkle. Early bird gets the...
