Neon Deli — Restaurant in Middletown

If you're not a regular, don't even bother coming in! Unattentive service, assumes you come there every day and makes you feel bad for not knowing the menu. I was told I could build my own sandwich, "just tell me what you want on it", I said I'd have a wrap with greens and hummus and some bacon and egg. She said "so a bacon and egg sandwich"? I said, yes, on a wrap. In the meantime a couple of regular customers came in, I was patiently awaiting for her to take out the greens, hummus, or at least ask me or acknowledge me in any way. Suddenly I hear "here is your egg miss". When I said I wanted hummus and greens on it, she said "we dont do it here. Its whatever is on the menu".... wow. I didnt even have any problem picking something from the menu. Yet I was told I could build my own from whatever ingredients I see....? After ordering I wasn't informed of the changes in her mind. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I give her a plus for not charging me for the sandwich. It seems like the food is really good. But the worst service I have ever received. Almost passive aggressive. I was treated completely different from the regular customers that came in. Today, decided to try a local sandwich shop that’s open on Sundays. Found the Neon Deli. Sometimes when we try new places, we aren’t always pleased. But that wasn’t the case here. Friendly owner and courteous staff. We were walk-ins, and it took around 10 -12 minutes for our grinders to be made. So l have lived in the neighborhood about 3 years and always go by this place, So I phoned in an order for a 12 inch roast beef sub with cheese and LTM. When I get there I tell the girl I phoned in an order for a RB sub. She rings it up and says $13 and change.13 bucks for a 12 inch grinder? In Middletown? I now know why they say New York style deli..NY prices. Sub was good but not worth $13.. I can get a 16 inch RB sub down the street at Mama's Italian market for 9 bucks...Won't be...
