The Blue Door is easily the best bar in town. Amazing rotating selection of beers, fantastically crafted cocktails with a seasonal menu (you can always ask for your favorites, too and the wonderful staff can usually still make it for you) and top notch over all ambiance and experience. Always the place I take my girlfriends to or people visiting because of how great it is there and the fact that you won’t be hit in relentlessly by creepy men (always a plus). I love that they have a paw friendly patio and that they are always hosting events and displaying and selling local artists work! They’re very active in the community and are overall the ideal local business and a must see if passing through Midland!

The menu has a wide variety and for me the Cosmo 2.0 cocktail is a standout. The service is exceptional, with knowledgeable and attentive staff who go above and beyond to provide an excellent experience. The ambiance is charming and cozy, though it can get a bit noisy during peak hours. **Bridesmaids Trivia: Fans of "Bridesmaids" will enjoy playful references throughout the decor and menu, like "First Class" and the “Maid of Dishonor"** Overall, The Blue Door offers a memorable experience with superb food ordering options, excellent service, and a charming atmosphere. Don't miss it, especially if you appreciate fun pop culture nods.

Having recently relocated from Las Vegas, I can appreciate a good craft cocktail bar and I’ve definitely found it at The Blue Door. That’s a place has a sophisticated upscale feel and the cocktail menu is great. The staff was super friendly and attentive. We sat out on the patio area that has heaters for those chilly nights. They don’t have food but you are able to order from the restaurant next door and they’ll bring it over to you. That’s a huge plus. The Blue Door will definitely be our go-to spot for bourbon date nights.

I have been coming here for 5 years, and have been in love with this place bc it was different from the other rubber stamp places that you can guzzle flat beer and down watered down over sweetened cocktails. That changed the other night when I took my wife for our anniversary. I remember this establishment would not serve shots bc it took pride in its craft, and would the bar tenders would look in disdain if such a request was made. They now serve shots, which has drawn beer guzzling, shot taking, whooping, hollering and loudly clapping crowd that can be found at Chili’s. They also would never tolerate the obnoxiously loud shabbily dressed individuals I saw there the other night. I’m the past they would have been asked to keep it down. The bartenders used to be clean shaven, nicely dressed, and put on an air of pride in their craft. Now, I get a frat party vibe from t shirted, long hair having, ball capped bar keeps with the manager being the most in hygienic looking individual I seen. The best word I could use to describe him was mangy. All that was missing was a beer bong. The French martini: is a disaster. Poorly thought out. I expected a velvety smooth beginning, tapering to a mildly sweet body and a hint of pineapple towards the tail. Instead, I got pineapple. Just pineapple. With pink food coloring shaken to foam as if to say: “it looks pretty, is sweet, and pink so she’ll like it. She did not. The southern gentlemen: it was a play on the old fashioned with flavored bitters. Would be better with a longer body and more smoke. Overly sweet. Overall. Meh. The vesper. Wow. Amazing drink. Loved it. From beginning to end. If you want to feel like your wearing a tuxedo from having a drink, order this. You fell like a million bucks. Then again, it’s James Bond’s drink. All in all, please please please go back to what you were. Stop with shots. You used to be a cocktail lounge. Addendum: I can’t past the use of red herring to not address the issues. Sure you can mix a great cocktail with long dirty looking hair. But who’s gonna drink it?probably the crowd you’ve drawn that takes shots. I like the excuse of “diversity” to justify un professionally dressed and adorned bartenders. Also, you should try to be the same. “Change” is nothing more than a positive spin on deeply rooted problems. If you read what I said closely, you agreed, that your establishment is on a long steady decline into obscurity. Which is what happens when you compromise standards. Which you...

It was actually pretty cool but I couldn't help to draw comparisons to a "blue door" bar in Houston. Now that I'm sobering up (LOL) I realize there really is no comparison as this place is looking to establish its own footprint as a laid back, chill, but happening kind of bar. It's not a sports bar (although they did have ESPN on) and it's not a club. Current alternative music was playing. It was a bit dark and I was freezing in there. Minor complaints. My mixed drinks were priced accordingly and were probably a bit expensive compared to other establishments. Tshirts to tuxedos, no exaggeration, were represented here. It was a bit loud but not because of the music system or obnoxious patrons. I think the ceiling tile could be changed to something more deadening to allow for better conversation. Maybe I'm just getting old and it's becoming more difficult to discern talk from the din. I'll stop in again when I'm in the area again. I'll update this review if I feel any different the...

Went to The Blue Door on February 5, 2022. I heard about this place on Facebook. I messaged them on Facebook to find out what sipping rums they carried. The manager messaged back and said they did not carry much sipping rum because there is not much of a market for it in West Texas. The manager did say they had a Ron Zacapa 23. That is a nice sipping rum. I went in the early evening and asked my waitress for a double of the Ron Zacapa 23 on the rocks. The manager comes out and explains that no one had ordered that so they had sent it back. The manager offered a drink on the house and sent one of the employees out to get a bottle of the Ron Zacapa 23. I was very appreciative of that and ordered two doubles while I was there. The Blue Door was very accomodating, the waitress was very nice and the manager took care of us very well. I would highly recommend this place for a good drink and nice place to spend some time. I...
