I really like their cakes and I havenât been in a long time but today we celebrated my daughterâs 17th birthday so I stopped to get a bunt cake. I walked in and the first thing I saw was a display with a 2 tier cake with a decorative piece on top. I went to the counter and looked at the menu and CLEAR AS DAY it says tiered cake feeds 26 DECORATED $66. So I tell the girl thatâs what I want, picked the cake flavors, picked a blue flower and she asked what I wanted and Pointed to some toppers that said Birthday Girl or Happy Birthday.. I told her the Happy Birthday was fine. Then they go to charge me and itâs $78⌠I asked why and they said the decorations are $12 and I proceeded to tell her that her menu says $66 for a decorated tiered cake. The 2 girls started telling me it doesnât include a decoration. I ask then why does your menu say decorated. Their answer was thatâs just not what it is and proceeded to tell me an 8â is $27 and a 10â is $37 which added to $66.. I told them that actually is only $64 and that the menu states itâs $66 for a decorated tiered cake. They all laughed and questioned why I was questioning what they were charging me and I told them Iâm just telling you what your menu says⌠Ultimately in the end I asked for the owners to call me and to give me the cake and ended up just buying a 1 and 7 candle leaving the decoration. I wasnât going to keep arguing over what their menu says and them laughing as if it was some sort of joke. I really like the cakes but I probably wonât be back, the customer service needs major work, it was rude and unprofessional to question why I was questioning their prices when the menu is very clear. If I had paid for a 10â decorated cake I would have gotten the same topper. I didnât make their prices, they did and they should have honored the...
Read moreThis rating of 2 stars is strictly for the Midland store. We discovered NBC 4 years ago upon moving to Odessa and have been huge fans since that time. We have also purchased NBC in other cities-Lexington KY, Cincinnati, OH.... The last 4-5 times that weâve purchased bundtinis in Midland, weâve called ahead to order because we had been told upon walking in to purchase a dozen that it couldnât be customized and we could only be sold the pre-boxed unless we wanted to come back at least an hour later. This was not a holiday or any other busy time of the year. Also, every time that weâve called to place an order weâve been told that it must be paid for upon ordering. Very understandable. However, itâs the attitude, each and every time, of being a huge bother. The staff there is never friendly, never welcoming, and, again, one feels they are a bother The last straw was Saturday. We called ahead to order a dozen bundtinis and were given the same âyouâre a hassleâ attitude, âthe order has to be paid over the phoneâ deal. No problem. Just ignore it. What canât be ignored is the fact that the last 3-4 times weâve purchased bundtinis, theyâve been subpar to say the least. Dry is the biggest complaint and even âoldâ tasting. The ones we picked up Saturday were no different and even more disappointing. They were crusty on the outside, the chocolate being the worst. The attitude from the young lady wasnât any better than in the past. She asked very hurriedly if I needed anything else and didnât seem happy that I asked for a lemon bundlet. No more. Albertsons will get our business before the Midland NBC. Quality (of the bundtinis primarily) is poor and customer service is no...
Read moreIâve tried their bundtinis at the hospital, and when family/friends have bought them. I went around lunchtime to order a dozen bundtinis. The person working told me it would be 30 minutes, so I told her I would be back after 4 to pick it up. I went back after 4. It was a different employee. I told her I was there to pick up an order. She went to the back, and came back to the front with 3 bundtinis. I told her I had a dozen, and showed her my receipt. She went to the back then came back, and told me, âI think your husband came for them.â I told her I donât have a husband. She told me someone picked them up showing my receipt. I was confused because I went back to work after paying, then to HEB, then back to pick them up. I had my receipt all afternoon. They insinuated I was trying to get more. I felt offended. That was my first and last time going there. They made a mistake by giving someone my order, but tried to insinuate otherwise. Thereâs absolutely no way someone went in there with âmyâ receipt that I had at work. Iâm assuming they didnât check the receipt when they gave someone my order. She went to the back, and came the front with my order. When she handed them to me she said, âWe made them again.â Again, insinuating that I had already picked...
