I cannot fathom how this place has the business it does. It was busy with the to-go orders, with people coming and going constantly. But why? The food here was horrible! NOT authentic, not even close! Not tasty even if not authentic. I embrace non-authentic recipes as long as they taste good!
I seriously have had better tasting Pad Thai from instant, the next day! Not joking. Bland, and pastey, none of us could discern any real signature flavor that would say "this is Pad Thai". Save the money, but the microwave Pad Thai.
The Laap was really a chicken salad with cilantro. The chicken is at least supposed to be minced... this was a course chop; picture chunks of grilled chicken served with taco style shredded lettuce, and what seemed like Italian dressing, onion and cilantro. $4 and you can make this at home. For $10 you can have this!
Now the staff was friendly. Our waitress was nice. Covid precautions were enforced and abided, and general cleanliness seemed standard. 10/10 will not go again. Best wishes to those...
Read moreI've come here for years, it's not quite as good as their main Pi's location, but the food had always been pretty good.
I would have given four stars due to their track record, but was quite tempted to give two stars:
I placed an order at 11: 30 am and was told it would be ready in 12-15 minutes. I attempt entering to pick up my order at the projected time but the doors were locked, I called but the call went to voicemail - piddling around outside in the cold I called back a few minutes later and get let in so I could pay. The worker said it would be 15-25 minutes and that she would bring it out to me. 12:32 PM my food was brought out.
The food this time was not as good as I had grown accustomed to, in fact it was not very good, and there was not anything peanutty about the pad thai.
This was a waste of my time and money and a mistake I will not make again at Pi's Asian Express. I only hope their main restaurant wont warrant such a review in the future as their food was...
Read moreThe $50 order was entirely inedible and going into the trash, because I don't even feel good bringing this to Open Door.
The sesame chicken and the sweet/sour chicken were SOPPING wet to the point where the breading on the chicken was completely off each piece of chicken and just soaking on the bottom of the food in a huge, gooey, yeasty mess. The sauces have zero flavor, it just tastes like sink water from the kitchens dish pit. Egg drop soup and sweet and sour soup were the exact same thing, so either they made a mistake on the order or it truly is no different.
This place is actually the worst FOOD I've ever had. Not just Chinese food, FOOD in general. I don't understand how anyone stomachs this. I've given it four or five chances over the last 5 years and it just gets worse. I don't get it.
Today i had a friend from out of town come by. I warned them against this place but we tried it anyways. Will 100000000% be...
