From the start it was a GREAT experience! I loved that we could put ourselves on the waitlist online with the click of a button before we left our home in Waxahachie (and check our progress on said list through the Yelp app) it only took a few minutes to be seated after we arrived. Immediately upon being seated Chris approached us with coffee urn in hand and asked if we woud like coffee. He filled our coffee cups which were already on the table and told us he would be right back with water for us (I love not having to ASK for water). Very quickly he returned with water and asked if we had any questions. It was our first visit to the restaurant so we had not even looked at the menu. We asked for Chris' recommendation and settled on chicken and waffles, Guacamole toast with eggs sunny side up, seasonal fruit and a side of hashbrowns. We mentioned to Chris that we were going to be sharing our food and without us even asking he had the chicken and waffles and the Guacamole toast split onto 2 plates each, wow was that appreciated. The restaurant was on about a 30 minute wait to be seated while we dined yet the food came out freshly made and piping hot within minutes of our ordering. We had our coffee refilled 4 times and for one of the first times EVER I did not have to wait for my cup to be filled after I emptied it (indeed my cup never even got empty). At one point another employee who was walking around with the coffee urn even took it upon themselves to ask if we would like a touchup on our coffee (not that additional help was needed, but it was there none the less). The food was cooked perfectly and met expectations. I also liked that the chicken and waffles were not drowned in syrup and that extra syrup was offered on the side. Nothing worse then food drowned in sweet, sticky syrup. The owner, Nora, came by the table to check on us while we were eating which is always a nice bonus to see the owner invested in the quality of each individual guest' experience. Overall our service was friendly, professional, knowledgeable and very prompt without being intrusive or making us feel rushed. We were afforded the opportunity to get in and out quickly should that be our preferance or to sit around and chat with each other should that be our desire. We will definitely return to this restaurant soon and will ask for Chris to wait on us once again. It is a sign of an establishment which has exceeded your expectations when, while still sitting at the table, you are making plans to return. Great experience, thank you...
Read moreThis was my first time going here. It wasn't "bad". It's just not really "new customer" friendly. We had a lot of questions because the menu is vague and doesn't have the needed details about the items in order to make a decision on what to try this visit. You could tell that the waiter was trying to hide the fact that he was annoyed, but it was obvious. They have speciality coffee. I ordered the Carmel latte with a double shot of expresso. It had a bland taste to it. I should have been able to taste the double shot in an 8 Oz drink, but it didn't taste like there was any expresso in it at all. But then again I'm a Starbucks regular so, maybe I'm biased. Mixed Salad is an option for one of the sides, but the menu doesn't tell you that it comes with red onions, tomatoes, and Italian dressing already on it. That would have been nice to know. It also left out that the pancakes have powered sugar on top. I don't like powered sugar on my pancakes. So just small things that either the waiter or the menu should have explained. The omelets are good. Rather than send half my order back, I just ate a little of each thing because I was starved after just getting off of a night shift. There were a lot of people there so I will guess that they have their regulars and they are happy with that. New customers who will take what they are given and don't ask too many questions...
Read moreGreat service and food! My wife and I were looking for a breakfast spot in Midlothian and this place delivers. They have classic breakfast options and a few uniques items. My wife got the Sante Fe skillet with a side of pancakes. She said it tasted really good, the chorizo was not really greasy and the fresh jalapeños added fresh texture. The pancakes didn’t cost extra they were considered a side! Good pancakes… syrup is a little sweet. They do have larger specialty pancakes as well. I got the more unique item, Spicy Chicken and biscuits. It was amazing!!! It has honey drizzled over the chicken and some of the gravy. The chicken isn’t that spicy. It’s similar spice level to chic fil a spicy chicken sandwich. I enjoyed the classic biscuits and gravy part as well. Their orange juice is homemade and tasted great. It was busy but we only ended up waiting 5-10 minutes. You can give them your cell phone # and they text you when your table is ready. Our server, Landry, had excellent service, friendly thorough and prompt. This is there second week open. It was great meeting the owner, Nora, and seeing her interact with the guest. We will...
