The front staff were not very friendly. We didn't wait long to be seated as they were not very busy. The waitress seemed very rushed, which is odd when you are not busy at 545 on a Saturday night. Possibly a red flag.. The drinks and chips came out quick. The chips were very low on salt but were warm. The salsa was pretty basic, not the worst, but I have had way better. Then comes the food. The chicken and steak fajitas were ok. Grilled chicken nachos were a hit with my teen, but the only thing that comes on them is chips chicken and queso. The shredded chicken nachos came with hardly any chips and no queso. You must pay extra for lettuce, Pico, jalapeños and sour cream, which I added. I ended up with a glorified overpriced bowl of chicken, a minor amount of jalapeños and Pico, yet loads of lettuce. When we asked about the queso, we were told it's like water sitting on the bottom of the plate.. The other nachos we paid for had queso, which wasn't water. The cheese quesadilla, which was ordered by an adult, came as a child sized quesadilla. If they are infact this small, why wouldn't you alert an adult who ordered this as an entree. The Mexican potatoes were weird. They were some type of mashed potatoes. They looked similar to sweet potatoes. 2 people at the table tried them, and both said they are not sweet potatoes, have an odd texture, and not so great flavor. Overall, I gave 2 stars because the food was mediocre but expensive. I also left hungry because I wasn't eating a plate of chicken and lettuce. I would have given 1 star, but the manager took the nachos that came without queso and 5 total chips...
Read moreWent there tonight after hearing talk on radio about this place. Arroz con pollo portion was small and expensive for this dish. Dish was acceptable but bit into something hard in the chicken -- looked like a piece of bone. The lettuce was sub par - not fresh but the type of shredded lettuce you get in those bags at the stores with the funny after taste. Fresh cut lettuce would have made this a good choice and above average.
The Taquitos my friend ordered went mostly uneaten. She said the frozen ones I get from the store were better.
The rice was good and seasoned just right. The flan was above average and homemade. Chips and salsa were fresh and above average quality.
Overall, food was average but nothing stood out as to make me want to go back.
Service was average. Asked the waitress if they had Coke and she said yes. Ordered two Cokes and first taste told me it was Pepsi. Asked waitress about it and she was surprised and asked how I could tell it was Pepsi. She said she cannot tell the difference so I guess she figured out a regular Coca Cola guy would not know the difference.
The waitress was polite and brought additional chips and salsa when I asked. She was a little distracted at times but service was pleasant and acceptable.
Bottom line: Food was average with a price that exceeded the quality of food. If the cost was more in line with the inexpensive Mexican restaurants, I might be inclined to go back. Total cost was nearly $34 for two dinners and two sodas...
Read moreWe have been going to this restaurant for years and is the go to for our Mexican cuisine fix. There are several Mexican restaurants in the area so the theme is quite saturated, but we always chose Mexico Restaurant over the others. First, it is always clean and well organized and the prices are very fair for the food provided. We have always experienced exceptional customer service from everyone including managers, servers, and host. They may not be as upbeat as the competitors or over the top, but we have been here hundreds of times and never have we complained about the service. The food is good and they do a great job updating the menu and offering new items. It is not authentic cuisine, but does enough to provide a great meal. We have a family member with severe gluten allergies, and this is the only Mexican restaurant she feels comfortable at, and they provide her plenty of options. The bar drinks are definitely short of spectacular, but for those looking for a family friendly vibe, Mexico does not really promote alcohol and their bar is always empty. Those looking for a bar scene will be disappointed. The patio is amazing, however inside is comfortable but a bit dull and not as loud and flamboyant as some of the other restaurants. In the end, in a heavily saturated theme, we continue to come here over the others because of the consistency and above average marks in all areas. It is not fantastic at anything, but we have never left...
