Extremely disappointed in this establishment. Don't bother making reservations, they won't respect it. On Dec. 4th I called to reserve a table for 20 -30 people for a birthday gathering for Saturday Dec.10th at 8 PM. They said it would be no problem so I made invites and sent to my guest. On Wednesday, Dec 7th I went in person to check out the bar as it had been a few years since I was last there and I wanted to ask if I could reserve a specific area, bring balloons, cake, etc. I verified I had it reserved for Saturday - The guy checking ID's verified my reservation and said they could push a couple tables for our group near the dance floor and that I could bring a cake and balloons. On Saturday Dec 10th at 7:45, we called the bar to ask if we could leave a car parked there overnight, if needed. They said yes, we let them know that we would be 5 minutes late to our reservation which the guy on the phone said that we didn't have a reservation. He said they don't do any reservations on paperview nights plus they couldn't host us because they were too crowded. Mind you this is 15 minutes before our guest were arriving. We asked why they didn't call prior to let us know but he had no answer for me other than he can't stop the fight to host our party plus there is a cover charge, he also didn't apologize for their employees not being on the same page in regards reservations. At a last minute scramble I called the Midway, they so gracefully made space for my group. Don't waste your time going to a Bar Named Sue, go to The Midway for a super laid back dive bar experience with...
Read moreMe and the hubby went here a few weeks back and it was pretty good until we got served. The server a (short brunette) was nice at first. Me and the hubs enjoyed the fries and atmosphere. We were splitting the tab and I was explaining this to her (it was loud which isn’t anybody’s fault) and I said “the fries are on my tab with the two beers on the hubs tab. And put mine (referring to my cocktail) on my tab”.
A few minutes go by and she brings the hubs the second beer and another one of the cocktail I had previously ordered. Me and the hubs were confused because I had not asked for another one. When I went to go ask her, she had a very snippy attitude claiming that I had told her to get another one. I said that wasn’t what I said but she just told me that she couldn’t take it back and I would still be charged for it. I was already anxious being in a bar and this made that worse. I just told her that I think there was a miscommunication because I was going to order a different drink and she claimed that I never told her that. And I was like yes I didn’t tell you because I needed to figure something out before I had another drink. She was still rude and snippy so I just went back to my table and told the hubs.
Good food, good atmosphere, not so great server. Just that one person though. I’ve had a few others tend to me who were amazing. She just wasn’t :/. Not sure if we will...
Read moreI’m extremely disappointed at a business that I can’t feel comfortable with my service dog. My service dog, due to my disability, is off leash. When I walked in, without knowing anything about me or my dog I was threatened that my dog better stay close to me “or else” type thing. My dog clearly has his vest on and is highly trained to stay besides me. I then felt uncomfortable from having a good time there because the guy that said it to me continued to just watch me while I tried to be with my friends. Then my friend that I did meet up with told me a couple months ago he came and they actually didn’t let his friends service dog in (which is highly illegal). I don’t know whether they realize that this is discrimination but I really don’t care. It’s against federal law to do what you’re doing and ignorance to the law is not acceptable for a business in any community. Educate yourselves before you get in real trouble with what you’re doing. I didn’t ask for a disability and threatening me and my service animal that you’re basically going to kick me out if we make a misstep is not okay. Discriminating against disabled people is probably not the route a business should take but I guess that this place...
