It’s disappointing to leave a negative review, but I couldn’t help it. The food was delish and in my opinion a decent price for the quality and selection of plates.
However, it appeared they were understaffed and experiencing some miscommunication between staff. We made a reservation for 11, 5 of which were kids. It took an hour and 20 mins for our plates to come out and while bringing them out a gentlemen was assisting our waitress and immediately became frustrated that he couldn’t figure out which plate went where from the tab.
He walked away and left the plates sitting there another 2-3 mins while looking for our waitress and when she appeared basically told her to figure it out. Throughout our entire experience there was little follow up, we had to request all the basics and they left water jugs for us to refill our own cups… which was fine my issue is the bill came out and it was very frustrating to see the gratuity.
We eat out and I understand that they added the gratuity because we were a party of 6 or more…. As is most families staying at this resort I’d assume. The bill was 400… with a 60.00 gratuity, more than the usual 18-20%. Don’t get me wrong the waitress was nice but as stated IT TOOK AN HOUR AND 20 MINS to begin to get our food even though we made a reservation ahead of time. Initially half the table received their food and another 10-15 mins later the remaining plates came out. A few steaks and the salmon was overcooked, and little follow up throughout to justify a 60.00 tip. I mentioned this to the server nicely and again when she brought her manager over.
He dropped the bill from 402.00 to 390.55 not even worth the feedback given. I am never one to complain especially because I know the industry is difficult especially if running understaffed but his response for leaving us waiting over an hour was some steaks take longer to cook…. But overcooked is what it was.
Just take into account the pricing is fair, the food is decent but be prepared for extremely longer than normal wait times to be served and little attention to detail and then tipping them for...

Read moreI really wanted to like Z’s. We stayed at Zermatt, and they call themselves a 4-star resort. When we arrived at Z’s, it wasn’t super busy at all. We waited to be seated for several minutes before the hostess, Paige came by. She was expressionless and nearly lifeless. She honestly didn’t even seem like she knew she was on shift as she moved at a glacial pace to come “greet,” us (she barely acknowledged our existence). She then sat us at a table with the sun shining in our faces. I asked if there was another table available and she said “No, we were busy this morning,” despite there being multiple several tables. I didn’t push it and we made it work. After about another five minutes, Paige poured me a glass of water, and didn’t pour my husband a glass as she left. We assumed she ran out to get more water. She did return and filled up my husbands, his having no ice and mine having ice. Once again, she said nothing to us. I wouldn’t even say she was cold, she seemed like she was on another planet in her mind. She would also slowly walk around the restaurant, not helping any one or anything in particular, just looking slowly “busy.” There was one waitress for the entire restaurant. Corinne was kind and did her best, but they were clearly understaffed. We waited 45 minutes for our food and were accidentally given the table next to us breakfast instead of our own. When our order was given to us, it was cold. After being there for over an hour, we promptly asked for the check as we needed to check out. Paige walked by and I said, “Can we get the check, please?” She stopped in her tracks, stared at me, and said flatly, “Yeah.” And then went about her business and not getting us the check at all. It was a bizarre dining experience. I hope Z’s can pull it together. I hope Paige is ok. I didn’t take it personally as I noticed she treated every diner in this manner. Needless to say, we...
