Gave this place a shot because it was recommended by locals and I love trying new takes on Asian fusion foods but it was a disappointing experience from the minute the food was picked up. To be honest, the service was exactly as bad as the food; it wasn't nice or welcoming. These dishes appear delicious and full on the several photos that the owners, I suppose, have posted. However, when I got home, I was appalled to find a very empty meal—the container was not even halfway full! I only needed to take a few quick looks to realize that I wouldn't like this supper. But since I've already spent so much money, I tried to remain hopeful, so why not? I didn't even bother to finish it after realizing after 2 bites that I wasn't mistaken; it tasted awful. There was a faint scent of basil or some kind of herb/spice, but there was too much grease for me to taste anything else. I even tried to mix it up but still the same result. The appetizers are even smaller and again HEAVILY infused with oil, which no longer surprised me. I still feel like I was duped out of every single cent of my money, which is really disappointing because I was. The entire process, from ordering to getting, was just awful. Extremely irrational things include oil-based taste exclusively, expensive prices, and skimpy portions. Additionally, I read the google reviews and saw solely responses to the negative ones only but not in a professional nor constructive way, more like defensive and offended? So I guess I’m prepared to get my reply soon as well. The on going problem does not have a solution since it’s been repeated multiple times by multiple other customers. I will not be returning and will not be promoting this establishment. I'll be sure to share my awful experience, if anything.
EDIT: The on going issues in many of the other reviews can agree that the prices don’t match up to the amount of food given. Why are we paying double money for half a container of food?? It’s sad to even have to repeat it again because you guys are not listening to your customers feedback.
Actually it’s really simple to divide your reviews from highest, to lowest. Not necessarily needed to scroll through 50 to just find one if that helps you! Read both and if you did, you’d know all your “good” reviews don’t get acknowledged or reply’s for that matter.
Contacting the resturant after the service I’ve received has to be a joke at this point. As mentioned, service was horrible before figuring out my order wasn’t up to par. Imagine the customer service for a complaint, would have just been discarded and food would still have been the same no matter the...
Read moreOrdered takeout today for me and the Mrs. We were in between errands and needing something quick for lunch. I hadn’t been to Lei Ting since the change in ownership (back to the original owner) and felt like giving it a try.
I called and a girl took our order on the phone (1 Sweet and Sour Lunch and 1 General Tso Lunch). The wait was quoted as 25 minutes.
I walked in after 20 minutes and thankfully our food was ready. The girl said she forgot to add plastic ware before stapling the bag and so put some together quickly.
When I got home we ate and boy was it good. The rice was so fluffy and tasy. The broccoli was cooked to perfection and the sauce (Tso’s) was nice. A mild heat with great flavor. Tried her sweet and sour and it was good as well. Tempura chicken was PERFECT.
I will say this seemed a bit expensive at ~$17 per box but I think the better deal would be to come during the week for lunch. They currently offer this same lunch portion (which is plenty) for $11 during week days.
Don’t know when I’ll be back, but I’ll go during the week and try another...
Read moreI can’t rate the atmosphere, we got carry flavor Over $70 for 2 meals, and 3 apps - good grief. Crab Rangoon’s and dumplings / pot stickers were the best part of our order, but they literally cost DOUBLE what we pay at our normal Chinese carry-out joint, and they were good but not THAT much better… sushi not great, we got an order of California rolls, and the 2 that tried them each had one, they apparently weren't good enough to go back for a second roll. So again, total waste of money there. The sesame chicken was ok, nothing to write home about. The pad Thai was the strangest flavor - not enjoyable. It had more onions than chicken, so you better like onions a LOT if you order this. We won’t be going back here, I’m disappointed because I am looking for a new place for Chinese carry-out, I don’t mind spending the extra money if it is worth it, but this was not. Photo is of the onions we picked out of the chicken pad-Thai, and even ate some of them… I don’t dislike onions, I just don’t want the entire flavor profile of the dish to be onion. So...
