Made a reservation for a table outside for 10 people. A few extra people showed up without letting us know. We asked the hostess if it would be possible if we can grab the table next to us which is understandable. Upon arrival as we were being shown to our table immediately I ordered a side of french fries for my baby who is Year and a half old. The waitress immediately said not a problem and continued to ask if we’d like any other drinks 20 minutes went by. I asked our waitress Sara about the french fries she informed us the kitchen is really backed up. It was a Saturday. They’ll be out as soon as they’re ready. Another 30 minutes from by I asked again I received the same response with a heavy attitude, as if she was annoyed that I was asking about the food for my baby, which was ordered almost an hour ago. Another 40 minutes went by still no fries throughout this time. She came back got drink orders, and food orders Still with a heavy attitude because she was angry that I inquired about the food for my child food that was ordered significantly after the french fries were ordered arrived first and when I asked about her french fries again, I got nothing but an attitude stating they’ll be out when they are ready. So the manager Amy came to our table we discussed our grievances and how horrendous services and got the same response that the kitchen is extremely backed up and they apologize for the inconvenience. At this point, we had been there for almost 2 hours with no food anywhere to be found who informed the manager will just pay for our drinks and go our child is hungry and we don’t know when her food is going to come out. She agreed to remove the food from our bill. Moments later the food came out. I ordered a shrimp appetizer, which took well over an hour to come out when they finally did come out. The shrimp was still frozen. My wife ordered nachos which were disgustingly prepared and extremely cold. Our waitress Sarah at this point was nowhere to be found. She will come to the tables next to us, and when we attempted to fly her down, would ignore us and walk away. I had to bring my food that I was unhappy with to the hostesses to share my grievances. We asked them to remove my food and my wife’s food from the bill as we were unhappy with what was presented to us. Finally, I had to go back to the hostesses to request a bill so we could pay and leave when we receive the bill. I was shocked to see that the french fries that took over an hour and a half to get there And were cold when they did get there. Were still on the bill. As somebody who worked in the restaurant business for well over a decade, disappointing, shocked, and appalled, doesn’t even quite come close to what I felt at that moment. If it was possible to give a negative star as a review, I would. Needless to say, my family and the families of our entire group will never be returning to the establishment. I suggest you do yourself a favor and choose somewhere else. The ambience here is not enough to justify having to go through...
Read moreMy wife and I had a terrible experience at Dockside Brewery. We stopped by to try outdoor dining with our dog. Before dropping in, I left the dog in the car to make sure he was allowed before being served. We were told that he was allowed and so brought him into the biergarten area. I once again confirmed with one of the staff members that he was allowed and was actually pointed in the direction of the vacant tables. We were then told by two other staff that we needed reservations before we could be served (no mention of the dog not being allowed though he was sitting right there!).
My wife sat down at an empty table outside with the dog and waited while I went inside and asked about getting a reservation. I was told by a hostess that dogs were actually not allowed, which is perfectly fine and understandable(!) and so I went down to let my wife know so we could leave, but when I walked back she was being escorted out by a sour looking manager. He followed us all of the way to the parking lot like we were being bounced from a club.
Apparently, while I was away, the server that told me we needed to get reservations complained to that manager about us. The manager (a man much larger than my wife) went to the table and aggressively rushed her out of her seat. He was in her face and acted gruffly. Our dog is large and not easy to handle but the manager wouldnt listen or try to understand the misunderstanding. He was extremely rude as he bullied and intimidated my wife.
This was handled very poorly. Amateuristic and arrogant... We wouldnt have even taken our dog out of the car if the staff member had said he wasnt allowed in to begin with. We were told twice that he was! Dockside Brewery could have handled this misunderstanding politely and patiently, but instead treated us like we were criminals or trespassers. Any of the other three staff members we saw and spoke to after we entered could have helped resolve this peaceably and we would have been happy to leave. We understand that dogs aren't allowed everywhere but were misinformed when we first arrived. We stopped in on a whim and didn't know the rules!
Obviously, we're never returning here. The manager in particular needs training on how to handle these types of situations, or at least act politely and try to understand that we weren't trying to get anything over on them or act inconsiderately. Just an awful experience. But hey, maybe the...
Read moreWhat a place! I recently came here with my girlfriend and her family, and we were not disappointed.
The location is absolutely incredible, and the name Dockside is not a misnomer. Located right on the water, the harbor views from the lower level tables at sunset were awe-inspiring. The weather was beautiful as well, which made dinner here one of the most pleasant meals I can remember.
The ambience was also perfect. It was just the right combination of lively but not outlandish. The atmosphere was fun and full of energy but not obnoxiously loud and precluding conversation. There are multiple bars, but in my opinion the outdoor bar on the second tier is the one to be at!
The food was unbelievable. For apps, we did the Philly Egg Rolls, Fried Pickles, and Tuna Nachos. Everyone was raving about all of it. For dinner, I opted for the lobster roll, which was incredible. They packed a TON of lobster into the roll, which was absolutely delicious.
The drinks were great, too. I did a couple extra spicy margs, which were perfect: not over-the-top sweet, but not too dry either. Given that this is a brewery, we had to try the beer as well. On the lighter side, we did the El Capitan, which was uncharacteristically flavorful given it's a lager. On the heartier side, we did the Feelin' Juicy IPA, which really packs a punch and pleases the taste buds. Definitely recommend all of it.
Lastly, I was very pleased with both the wait staff and the bartenders. They were very nice and helpful, and they were frequently coming around to check in with us to see if we needed anything. We never felt like we were waiting to refill on drinks or food.
Overall, I don't have a bad thing to say about this place. The views are stunning, the food and drinks are great, the ambience is energizing, and the staff is polite, knowledgeable, and speedy. Definitely a must-visit if you're in the...
