I went to this location yesterday Sunday the 13th. I went in without a mask because i have a medical exemption from governor Lamont. When i entered i was told to put one on by an employee i told her that i can’t and she got angry. She also talked to me like she’s my baby sitter. Completely unprofessional. Once i entered the store i was immediately approached by what corporate told me was an “undercover employee” disguising as a customer. He forcibly told me i have to wear a mask or else he’s gonna have me arrested, which i informed him that that is against their policy. They have to refuse my business and ask me to leave if i cannot comply but he jumped straight to threatening me with police presence. I then said for the 2nd time that i have asthma and have a medical exemption which he and the store need to recognize and respect according to the governors executive order. They broke the law by refusing to recognize it and harassing me. Once i told him this he got very angry and walked away threatening to call the police. About 2 minutes later 2 more “undercover employees” approached me and told me i have to put a mask on or else I’ll be arrested. I informed them as well that that is against the law and also against their stores policy and that i can’t wear one due to my asthma per the governors medical exemption. Individual stores are not allowed to ignore the governors orders based on personal preference if normal citizens can’t. After i told them about my medical condition they also got angry and walked away threatening arrest. I continued with my shopping for 30 minutes with no further confrontation. Once i was next in line to check out, i was approached by police who told me i had to leave and couldn’t complete my purchase. I informed them of all of this information and they were appalled by the actions and failure to follow protocol on the part of Walmart and it’s employees. I then filed a complaint with corporate about the Harassment i received during my visit and violation of my rights and civil liberties. They said they will process it and send it to the location manager. If something is not done about this, then this location can count on a lawsuit...
Read moreSaw an item on the Walmart website that showed the item I was looking for was in stock on clearance. (A Kent brand mountain bike KZR black/red). The website said that there were three in stock and located in Aisle J 13.
Because of the discounted price and that I was 60 miles away, I first called the store to confirm that it was in fact in stock.
1st call, I was put on hold and transferred to the bike department. I was on hold for a total of 14.5 minutes. No one picked up.
I called back and was hung up on.
I called again and was hung up on.
I called a third time and someone picked up. The person who answered tried to help, but had no answer to if the bike was in stock. I told the employee that I would try back again the next day (Monday).
I called the next day Monday to try to confirm of the bike was in stock. I was put on hold again for 11 minutes. Noone picked up in the bike/toy department .
I figured I'd take the chance and go ahead and make the drive from White Plains to Stratford.
When I arrived I could not find the bike. An associate told me that they no longer had the bike in stock.
On my way out, I stopped at customer service to speak to a manager. A gentleman name Bill came to speak to me. I believe he was the assistant manager. I voiced my concerns that my long drive to the store ended up worthless since the bike was in fact not in stock. My major concern was that trying to get a confirmation over the phone and it seemed to get me nowhere. He seemed nice enough, but really didn't seem all that bothered that I had been hung up on (more than once), and that noone was able to help me.
Moving forward, I hope that the Stratford store can be more helpful so that a situation like this...
Read moreBeen going to this Walmart for 7 years now, and it’s like any retail place with varying degrees of personalities.
Placed many orders either for same day pick up or delivery. And I’ve been able to return plenty of items without any problems. There’s a particular customer service lady who without fail usually gets stuck with problem returns and she always manages to pull through.
My issue took place yesterday when I went to pick up an online order I placed which was comprised of cupcake liners and 2 sweetener packs. The worker who brought it out to me only had 1 of the packs. When I told him I ordered 2 he stated that I was mistaken and had only ordered 1.
So I reviewed my order and I was correct, entered the store, went to the pick up area, and addressed the same employee figuring may be a mistake was made (after all they do happen).
This employee (who has dreads dyed in blue) became annoyed, gave me attitude and behaved like he didn’t recognize me (didn’t know my appearance had dramatically changed in between the few minutes that he saw me in my car and in the store). I again stated a mistake with what I received in which he clarified that I received 1 pack because they ran out, and a refund was issued for the other. I looked in the app and sure enough he was correct. I thanked him and left.
That entire exchange would’ve gone differently if he had mentioned this instead of blaming me then giving me attitude for questioning him (which is my right by the way). With the 1000s of customers that go there daily I’m sure he gets his share of idiots and clowns who are out to get staff fired, but that’s not...
