Wife and I planned to have breakfast at The Governor, and wanted a good coffee shop to stop at before breakfast. I've read many great things about Forager, and have also heard a lot of positive mentions of May Cafe, which is closed on Mondays, so we landed at Forager.
Inside Forager it was clean and bright, wide variety of pastries to choose from (which I didn't get to try), and decent seating options as well as additional outdoor seating on the sidewalk.
I ordered a double shot of espresso, and a cold brew. They were out of cold brew coffee Monday morning so I went with an Iced Americano instead. The espresso was served in a "to go" cup instead of a porcelain cup, even though we paid for dine in. Espresso tasted good, but a bit of a let down not having it served in the proper cup. Iced Americano was good as well. My wife ordered a White Chocolate Latte (before the governor, and another after we left). She was very happy with her choice.
Overall it was a good experience. We do not live in Milford and this was one of our stops on a week long coffee tour of Cincinnati/Greater Cincinnati. On a side note, very impressed with what Milford has become since I last walked through many years ago. We enjoyed The Governor, so I know we'll be back in the area. Maybe we will be back to Forager? Only...
Read moreGood coffee however poor food choices. In my first visit, I got my coffee in a ceramic cup but last three visits, they switched to the paper plastic coated cups.
As a person who doesn’t like the paper cups as they change the coffee taste and not healthy, I don’t enjoy them. So every time they say the dish machine is broken. But that is not a legitimate problem as they can use the 3 bay sink to wash them.
Literally, they have the ceramic cups stored above the espresso machine as a decor and refuse using them! Especially after I specifically asked for that. After all, it is up to you to stop using them permanently or temporarily and up to me not to stop by in the future. Customers like me who are expert in coffee, love to enjoy the small details about their cup of coffee and making a trip to a cafe that its people in charge don’t appreciate their customers satisfaction is not...
Read moreForager is in a great location and the shop is always very clean. The coffee is usually pretty good as well. However, in my opinion, the baristas are never very welcoming. I have had a handful of them who have taken my order and they never say hi or smile. Honestly they seem annoyed that I’m there ordering a coffee when they are busy. They don’t ask your name when you order so when they call out the orders on a busy day it’s always confusing trying to figure out if it’s your coffee or not. I’ve taken the wrong coffee unknowingly. They also only have one size (for lattes at least) and it’s so small...
