Had an amazing lunch yesterday at Nation in Milford. My husband knew about the place but it was a total surprise to me…and what a great surprise it was! The restaurant itself is very attractive: industrial but not cold and drenched with natural light from a full wall of windows on one side of the dining room. The server was attentive but not hovering, and the food! Wow! It’s obvious to me that the kitchen takes its job very seriously, because every morsel I ate was perfectly seasoned to taste just a tiny bit different than any other bite you’ve taken of a “similar” item. For instance, the twin beef patties on my “Smatchett” burger spilled over the sides of the bun, creating just slightly crunchy experience along with a very flavorful chew. And the included-side Saratoga chips were like none I’d ever eaten before: not only were they crunchy and just a bit indulgent, they had been carefully seasoned in a way that made me stop and pay attention to their distinctive flavor. Then there’s the rich, eggy bun, which had literally been branded with Nation’s logo. This was all a lot more lovely than I had expected when we walked in, but hey - I’ll take it. I’m certain that if you’ve eaten at Nation, you already know what I’m raving about. But if you’ve haven’t yet discovered this place, what in the world is...

Went with a large group and was told the staff needed approval for our group from management. Management (Allen) approved our seating, and we were told we had the entire area (left side of the bar). As more of our group arrived, we started to use more high tops and were told by staff we could use the corner tables (that previously had people sitting in them).
The manager came over and took two high tops and told us that we could not have the seats we were previously told we could have. With over twenty people ordering beer and wanting to order food (with nowhere to really eat at a table at this point), management then comes over to say that we can't really stand in the area.
Management ruined any future business with our large family. Being told one thing then having tables pulled from our group, because "people are waiting for a table" is just wrong.
Our server, Belle, was fantastic! Management should take notes from their staff on how to treat paying customers!
DO NOT GO HERE WITH ANY GROUP ABOVE 4 PEOPLE! You may not get a seat. I would not be surprised if management changes over or this place closes due to bad management. What kind of management argues with a paying party of over 20 just asking for space...
Read moreWhat's not to love. Friends and I are staying in the Mariemont area and wanted a good burger. We looked at was nearby and Nation got good reviews. We went on a Friday night around 7pm. We had to wait for about 10 minutes but there was a private event going on so maybe more typically there wouldn't necessarily be a wait. There's a nice bar with some casual seating as well in the bar area. The dining room is also nice. There are alot of TVs with sports going on, so you would think sports bar vibe. But actually, we weren't really distracted too much by the TVs or the noise. So I wouldn't call it a sports bar per se. Our server, Brian, was top notch. On top of refills and clearing plates. Friendly and personable. You could tell staff enjoyed working there. Now the food. We got wings and corn/bacon hush puppies. The Memphis BBQ Wings. Amazing. But those hush puppies. Man so so good. I've never had hush puppies that good. I would come back just for that. We all got burgers. I got their version of a BBQ burger and totchos. Also, so good. Already in my top 5 burgers. Whenever we're in the area this restaurant will be on our must do list. GREAT job...
