Before even ordering I asked if the fries were cooked in a shared fryer. I was told that indeed they were. I have celiac and I'm placing my order I specifically asked for no fry because I need to be delivered and they weren't gluten-free. I ordered her two burgers on gluten-free buns with no fries. Before our food came I went back just a minute later asking for the buns not to be toasted because we have a gluten allergy and I want to do reduce the chance of cross contamination. When the burgers came out they had fries on the plate. My son's Burger was not touching the fries and he made the decision to eat to the burger but not touch. The fries.
Mine however was touching the burger and even somehow had two fries under the bun stuck in the melted juice. I politely asked them to remake my burger. I explained that I would be sick if I were to eat it and thanked them for remaking it.
They apologized and they kindly brought me potato chips that were gluten-free to eat while they remade my burger. They brought my burger out without fries. After eating quite a bit, I Burger I was quite hungry at this point I realized they toasted the burger bun after I specifically had asked for it to not be toasted. I could see burn toast marks. I'm wondering if they just took the fries off the plate and then just reheated the burger by toasting it and slapping some fresh veggies on it. There were grease marks on the plate where there was nothing like they had just taken the fries off. At this point I knew any damage had been done and I finished what little was left of my burger. I was waiting for my slow eating child to finish. I began to get a headache and a slight stomach ache already. I was surprised because even from cross contamination it usually isn't this big of an onset.
The next day now my stomach is swollen and I feel nauseous. My head's throbbing eyes watering. I feel almost as if I have eaten an entire gluten bun. I know that was not the case because it was crumbly and looked different than the others. I've never had this bad of a cross-contamination issue. My son has a slight headache ache and stomach ache he said it wasn't too bad.
I was just hoping to feel somewhat normal eating out with my family but that is not the case now. I am miserable and in a lot of pain. I feel bad not getting to enjoy my time with my family visiting and will have to miss work. So please if you are Celiac up or have a gluten allergy...
Read moreThis restaurant makes me sad. When I walked out of those hallowed halls, I was no longer enjoying fries to fight my very friends for and a burger fit for the gods. I was returning to life, fuller, yet like the man who courted Artemis, knowing everything else could not compare. Truly, how could I go to another burger joint and not sigh in utter disparagement that this soggy sandwich was not from a people who Blaze their Onions? How could I ever make french fries again, knowing I could never match the utter perfection that they have achieved? The eponymous Blazing Onion Burger, their specialty, had my doubts when I first considered it. How could they beat out all the competition when the art of burger cooking has been known for decades? I tell you, dear reader, I was but a burger-babe soon to become a burger-man. That beefy, oniony, pile of deliciousness was so good, I could not believe my palate. I had never known my imagination to be so vivid, so incredibly delicious. No, a new reality dawned upon me. It was not deception, but truth. A gift from Above (or Below, it's really hard to tell which). Yes the restaurant itself is clean and fastidiously taken care of by the staff. Of course the workers are friendly and ready to recommend something good (like everything they have). Obviously the selection was great. But does anyone really care? When you have a meal this incredibly delicious, enough to tempt one from the jewels of Hades or the wiles of Aphrodite, what good is everything else? Friendly and sincere window dressing? A pleasant show? So I say again. I am now sad. Sad that I am not currently there, but merely remembering my time there. Trying to imagine myself there again. That when I pull up to any other restaurant, it won't be as good. Had I more money, I would enjoy their burgers with smug satisfaction. And truly, the frugal among you ought to steer clear, else you spend your savings clinging to the doors. But I would not trade this experience away. For though my life is now on a down-slope, that high point of eating at this restaurant made it all worth it. Blaze those...
Read moreWow. I really couldn't be happier with this place. I ordered takeout and they were friendly over the phone and friendly in the store. The Bacon Blue Burger and The California Bacon Burger were both absolutely stellar. Cooked excellently and arranged beautifully. The mozzarella wedges were fantastic, literally better than any mozzarella sticks I've ever tried (and after working pizza for ten years I know my mozzarella). Garlic fries were really good and the regular fries were better than anywhere around. Kids chicken strip meal was thoroughly enjoyed by my son. It's fairly spendy but when compared to Red Robin it's a no brainer. Much better value and WAY better food. I don't think shake N go, five guys, Red Robin or Applebee's will ever receive another dollar from me while this place is open. I wish I could go back in time and replace every burger I've ever eaten with the one I had today. The burger.. it is so much more than just a burger. That first bite.. oh, what heaven that first bite is. The bun like the golden brown breast of an angel, resting gently on the aioli and blue cheese below, flavors mingling in a seductive pas de deux. And then, the bacon, the most playful strips of bacon. Then a slice of tomato, a leaf of lettuce, and a.. a patty of ground beef so exquisite, swirling in your mouth, breaking apart, and combining again in a fugue of sweets and savor so delightful. This is no mere sandwich of meat and toasted bread. This is God, speaking...
