I went here one day with a friend for lunch. The only thing I can say about this place is the ridiculous prices of food and the beer. My friend had a Guinness at $7 a pint and I had a black and tan at $9 a pint which is absolutely price gouging. The lunch specials were $18 each and it was just okay. The bartender was nice and said does anybody want a shot , I said as long as you're buying making me think that she was going to buy us a shot so we got three green tea shots .It wasn't until I got the bill that I saw that she actually charged me $24 for the three shots. She did this to a couple other patrons too so I'm sure she drank for free on them as well. There is no way these beers should be any more than $5 a pint especially at lunch time but I got scammed but never again. At the end of the day I spent $165 before tip and I could have went to a really nice restaurant and had better food and drinks for that price. Now I see why their specials and beer menu have no prices so make sure you ask before you order. Let's face it this place has nothing special to offer it's just a dive bar in downtown millville. Oh don't forget about the credit card fee that they tacked on at the end of it what a joke.

The Reuben bites were amazing. I ordered some To take home as well. Self. I felt like the Irish stew had too much flour or roux in it. And the shepherd's pie was very watery. It wasn't dense at all like a pie should be. It was more like shepherd's pie soup but a little bit thicker than that. I threw it away. But we have great service and Good original cocktails. The bartender makes great drinks it's a nice little place. I like pubs. I like the paneling and the darkness. It is smaller than some of the pubs I've been to. It's more like a corner bar type of deal but with pub like characteristics.PS The pineapple cup (which I forgot lol) is complimentary, if you order that drink which was amazing!!!!

Wow!! I chose to try this restaurant for dinner and I don't know if I can't accurately describe just how delicious our food was! I had to go Irish for obvious reasons, so I selected the Shepherd's Pie and the flavor was off the charts! The gravy was rich and thick, the mashed potatoes were creamy and the beef tender. You can tell it's homemade. My guest had the fish and chips and the fish was flaky and lightly battered. We both started with the Scottish Wedding Soup which was so good, I had to have a second cup! The meatballs were so soft and tasty and the broth had so many layers of flavor! There's a nice, relaxed atmosphere and the staff were very friendly. Highly, highly recommended!!

If you want an attitude from walking in for NO reason, then go there. If you walk in with a bottle don't assume (new waiter apparently) we are drinking alcohol, how about you communicate the rules, not give us an attitude the whole time. So me and my friends stopped in after karting and we were met with an attitude from the start. Once we were seated and ordered food the heavyset female waiter had an attitude the whole time. Everytime we asked for anything her response was I only have two hands, not something along the lines of I got you. SHE NEVER STOPPED BY OUR TABLE ONCE TO ASK/CHECK IF WE NEEDED ANYTHING after we ordered or got our food. Never brought us more water or napkins. SHE PLAIN IGNORED US LIKE WE WERE NOT THERE! I dont know how you ignore your customers, and expect a TIP.Then she proceeds to throw our food at us, had to grab the platter or it would have slipped off the table, talk about rude. Then smacks the ketchup bottle on the table. What was her deal?, anyones guess. Once i brought this up the HEATHER( bartender) to be civil, I was told the waiter was NEW, to my surprise.I tried to explain to heather how we felt, but it fell on deaf ears. I only asked for the waiter to relax, as she is hostile and all heather could respond with was "shes new, do you live around here?", "have you worked in customer service job before?" Is that supposed to validate the disrespect? Unbelievable to show no compassion. I understand people have bad days, but if we knew that is how we would have been treated we would have done business with someone else. AVOID AVOID AVOID! Whoever is in charge of the front staff, you need to retrain them, as this is how they treat your paying...

It was suggested by Google, so we figured we'd give it a shot...I'd give 3 stars for the food we got, 1 for the service.

My lovely bride is a former teacher, and a play that she used to teach was being performed at the theater across the street. So we made a family day of it, and figured we'd stop for dinner before driving the hour home to Delaware. What do we see across the street? An Irish pub! Perfect. We have visited Irish pubs in about a dozen states, and 4 countries, including Ireland. We've never had a bad meal or experience.

Until this time.

We arrived at 5:35PM, found a table and were immediately greeted by a waitress with menus. We ordered drinks, which came quickly, and placed out order for 2 Reuben platters, and an order of boneless wings for our son. Order was taken at 5:45. Then we waited. And waited. And waited. At about 6:15, the waitress came back to confirm what we ordered. Wait, what? We ordered 30 minutes ago, and you're confirming what we ordered? Clock is ticking. Still waiting. Ask for manager who comes over and says that the kitchen is backed up and our food should be coming any minute. And it did come at any minute. Specifically, the 20 minute mark from then. It's now almost 6:40, food comes out, fries are cold....

Sandwich was good, son enjoyed the wings. Just unimpressed with the apparent lack of organization, and apathy. We get it, football season, bar, we both did the job at one point, but it wasn't even all that busy. Maybe 20 people, and an hour to get 2 sandwiches and an order of wings.

You have a good opportunity to have a decent place in what was a town that people would avoid. Fix the issues, fire the...

I would really like to have given this Pub a better score but I had a bad experience there. Attended a show at the Levoy Theater directly across the street. We arrived at the Old Oar at 5 pm for an 8 pm show. Everything started out fine as we were seated in the beer garden immediately and the waitress took our drink order. The menu is pretty good and there is a large selection of beers and some specialty drinks. We got our drinks and an appetizer of wings all which were good. The place however was fairly busy because of the show. I will say it was busy but I have seen places operating under busier situations. They had two servers for the entire place doing the seating, serving food and bartending. We waited until 7:30 and still had not received our food. There were several tables around us who had been there before us . They got some of their food at around 7:15 pm but not all of it. They apparently only had one kid in the kitchen was also the story going around though we were never told exactly what was going on. The server was sending people who came in after us to another place or just sending them away. We asked about our food and the server did not seem to have any idea what our order even was much less have it. Our order consisted of a hamburger and a pulled pork sandwich. They couldn't get us that in almost 3 hours. Like I said I would have liked to give this place a thumbs up but it was a total disaster they must have known they would be busy considering they are about the only place open on the street and directly across from the theater. I would hope someday I have a chance to actually try their food but beware of...
