I was not impressed (no pictures) I orders rice,beans,steak and pepper the food smelled wonderful . The rice lacked seasoning(my kids would not eat it) the steak peppers and onions was flavorful. The food was not hot the chicken empanada was dry/cold(you can tell they cook and let the food sit until it’s gone not fresh). I was charged extra for using my card $1.00 then a charge for a bag(I did not purchase) then once my card was run I asked for my receipt I was told I sent it to your phone number (but you never asked for my number) a few days later I received my receipt. This was supposed to be a cheesesteak pastelillo… but where’s the meat? I’m honestly confused and disappointed. I had to look twice because I genuinely couldn’t find the steak. I get that prices are up and steak isn’t cheap—but come on. I’d rather pay a dollar more and actually taste meat in each bite than be served this. It feels like they’re cutting corners at the customer’s expense, and that’s just sad. I’m embarrassed for whoever runs this business. You can’t call this a cheesesteak anything. Pilar Caribbean Restaurant has been around for 10 years or so now. Tried the food. Was excellent. I had the yellow rice and bean, with bean soup, pulled pork and some steak and onion along with plantains. Oh and even tried the Malta which went well with the meal. Hope I spelled that correctly.
