All the years I could have gone here but I didn't.... now I have to make it up for it. Best New York Style Pizza I've had besides Three Guys Pies (because it's the same owner).
I don't know what it is but they have a thing for opening in asian food store shopping malls. This one is located in the same plaza as Mekong Market, right next to the plaza where Pho Kim Long is. It's not a terribly big restaurant but they have a couple of tables, minimal bar seating, and some outside tables. The restaurant is decked out in New York everything which is cool because it feels like I stepped into another world, makes you almost forget you're in California. The people here are very friendly, I had fun talking to them while watching the pizzas being made.
I AM ABSOLUTELY IN LOVE WITH THEIR MARGHERITA PIZZA. If I had to commit to one pizza forever, this one could be the one. It is a large slice of heaven. Very heavy on the garlic but that's how I like it. The tomatoes are juicy and full of flavor, they add a slight sweetness to the pizza. Just everything about this pizza is perfection. I also got the Long Island and that was good too. They were pretty generous with the chicken and pesto. The garlic knots are also worth getting! The star of the garlic knot dish is the sauce. That marinara sauce is addicting and signature to Colosseum. The pizzas come in two sizes either a 14" for $20 or for $24 you can get the 18". The 14" is enough to feed two people with some leftovers depending on how you eat.
I have nothing but love and high praises for Colosseum and I will most...
Read moreToday we visited Colosseum New York Pizza and were very happy that we visited this place. They use all fresh ingredients and hence the taste is awesome.
We had Garlic fries and Veg pizza. The Garlic was special and we were informed that they make it fresh everyday and probably is the reason why it better tasting. Fries were crispy and crunchy.
The Veg pizza came with Olives, Jalapeño, Pineapple, Mushrooms and toppings somehow tasted better. They also gave Ranch sauce which was out of this world and I did inform them that so far I only liked Ranch at two places - First is Subway chain of restaurants and second is Your place. The pizza base is thinner and crunchier and very yummy.
They also offer hot sandwiches and stromboli and menu options are plenty- for both veg and non veg crowd. The menu is kept simple with just medium and large pizza options.
Seating space is adequate with 5-6 tables and internal ambience will remind you of New York. They also have plans to put tables on the side. Service is quick and is offered with a smile.
The small complex has plenty of free parking though I guess majority of customers would order home delivery.
Whoever orders will be happy with the quality and taste but I am not sure if everyone will like the price. I found them to be reasonable and matching the exclusivity of the pizza.
Please do order/visit Colosseum New York Pizza in Milpitas and you will be happy to have discovered a new place to satisfy...
Read moreIf you are looking for more of how Pizza is being made and served in Europe, then this is your go to place! While it's still not proper Italian (and they don't claim to be), it really tastes like a good slice of Pizza that you would get over in New York.
They keep the crust nicely thin, don't overdo it with toppings and seem to choose quality red sauce and cheese. I usually just take a fairly simple Pizza here with pepperoni and mushrooms. The toppings are fresh and you don't get too little but also not too much. That's perfect in my view as I'm not a fan of the Pizza chains like Round Table, Dominos, etc that overload your pie with greasy toppings so that it tastes like everything and nothing at the end.
Make sure you don't order the big size as this Pizza makes you want to eat the crust - it's just so crunchy.
The place itself is a bit more on the rough side and it gets pretty hot in there in the summer as they usually leave the doors open without AC. Their big oven fills up the small restaurant quickly with heat. I prefer to do take out here. Even if it's busy, they get my order ready within 20 minutes and always right and on point.
Depending on how busy it is, your sometimes get treated a bit grumpy, but on a slow day they are actually really nice and friendly.
Overall my favorite Pizza for takeout in...
