This is the second time I have gone. I tried giving them a second chance since the last time I was there, the service was bad. This time was even worse. For starters, when I got there, there was no sense of urgency to help me or any other customer. As I stood in the middle of the floor trying to ask for help to be seated, everyone who worked there just passed me by, trying to do other tasks. When I finally grabbed someoneās attention, they were so confused about what to do. Their comment was, ā"Oh, I have to write your name, but our list is full, and we don't have any paper," as another employee said, "Just grab another piece of paper and write their name." Finally, they gave us the paper that was filled with names and told us to write our names as we did. Another employee just casually reached over and across from us as we were writing, as if we didn't exist, to reach for some utensils. No apologies, excuses, or anything else was said. As we finished writing the name, the person who had forcefully helped us had disappeared, so we went outside to wait. Forty-five minutes went by, and I saw how a table that was seated before I got there was barely getting served water and asked if they were ready to order. Again, there was no sense of urgency or apologies for taking so long. A few tables were done eating, and I had to get up to ask for someone's attention to get the check to pay. They would go back to their table and proceed to wait. One of the tables took 20 minutes before someone brought the check. At this point, it had been 55 minutes. I went inside as all the staff had just moved slowly with no sense of urgency to help. And again, I asked the same person if they knew how long it was going to take. Their response was, "Have you written your name on the list?" I responded, "Yes." All they said was, "We will call you," and turned around without saying anything else. Any other place would have said, "We are a bit busy," or "Our apologies, we will get you seated as soon as possible," or even, "You are the second or next person on the list." But nothing was said. At this point, there were more than enough empty tables, but all were full of dirty dishes from previous customers. Again, there was no sense of urgency from the person cleaning or any other employee as the tables remained dirty. Finally, I had had enough after waiting for 1 hour and 20 minutes and seeing that there were 5 more parties after me and 2 ahead of me waiting. So I took off and went to go eat somewhere else. As I got to my next place 15 minutes later, I finally got the call that our table was ready. At this point, I had already gotten in my car and driven about 10 minutes to a different restaurant that was as busy or worse than Taste of Heaven but had already sat us down gave us water and taken our order down and even apologized for the 2 minute wait to be seated. Normally, I don't write reviews unless the service is bad or something really bad happens. I do understand that things happen, but as a person who worked in the restaurant and hospitality industry, this place has no sense of urgency, ownership, or the right direction from someone to lead the team to a successful shift. Too bad, as the food I had the first time was great, and this time, I didn't even have the chance to try their food. I would have loved to write a different review of how amazing the food and service were, but instead, I am here letting anyone know...

I recently dined at Taste of Heaven Bistro in San Jose while on a work trip, and it was an absolute delight! Our amazing waitress, Maryam, made our experience truly special.
Tucked away in a cozy corner, this charming boutique eatery exudes a warm, picturesque ambiance. The vibe is cute, demure, and inviting.
The food? Absolutely delectable! We ordered:
A Slice of Heaven (buttermilk pancakes with dulce de leche, condensed milk, vanilla syrup, and whipped cream, accompanied by eggs, potatoes, sausage, and bacon). Meat Lovers Omelette (shredded beef, pork sausage, ham, green peppers, onion, hashbrowns, and wheat toast).
Both dishes were bursting with flavor!
The Mimosa flight was a highlight - four different flavors to choose from, and the Pomegranate Mimosa stole the show!
Taste of Heaven Bistro is an upbeat spot with energetic music, perfect for a lively brunch. Don't miss this hidden gem!

I do not mind paying an automatic service charge when warranted most restaurants will put on a service charge and the server does not have to spend that much time as a table doing their job. (Service) I am a 30 to 40% temper so put on an automatic 18%, you're losing my friend. We had stayed away for a while that we returned a couple of weeks ago. They have it down as far as the food menus are great. They need to work on the service. That's what keeps bringing people back. There are too many restaurants out there to have a lazy service. I am a food and beverage Director for a hotel and sometimes it is more difficult to run a restaurant when it's dead we've had our Saru Mateo in the past. Your restaurant was very busy at the time, but he handled it when restaurants are quiet or slow. You mess up more you don't pay attention to details and unfortunately, you have to be asked over and over for the same thing.
It's unfortunate that you lack service when your food really has gotten...
