We always go to Cupertino Ten Ren to get some tea. They serve products usually not as stable as back in Taiwan, sometimes tea flavor itself was not strong(watery?). We always order the same tea selection at different times but they come out without consistency. But we can always tell that the ingredient was as good as usual.
Today we visited Milpitas and ordered Oolong Milk Tea with boba. It was the worst experience I had. The quality of the tea leaves was awful. It' not TEN REN anyway! With more than 25 years of having nice tea, I can seriously say that I'm strongly angry with what I got!
I usually don't compliant with what I got from boba tea shops since it's in the states and I'm aware of that fact. BUT IT'S TEN REN in the states! I'm worried that this spot will damage the brand's reputation.
That's all I have to state today. As a loyal customer for more than 10 years back in Taiwan and here, I sincerely recommend checking the tea ingredients anyway for the...
Read moreReally cool tea shop with a huge variety of tea and tea drinks. I ordered a regular black milk tea with no pearls (number 1 on the menu) and it was one of the best black milks teas I've ever had. A bit on the sweet side, though, so next time I am going to request maybe 50% sugar.
I wouldn't get the matcha here, though. My boyfriend got a matcha milk tea (94 I think on the new additions menu) and it tasted just like normal jasmine green tea. It didn't taste like matcha at all (and I've had a LOT of matcha in my life and make it at home). I'm not sure if they messed the order up or what but it definitely was NOT matcha. I would go to a place that specializes in matcha if you want matcha milk tea.
I will definitely be back to try their other drinks, though. I heard their roasted oolong milk tea is very good, so I plan to try that next. Their prices are also very affordable compared to other tea places in the area. Looking forward to...
Read moreI think all the reviews that are 3 stars and above are FAKE. Either that or the people who come here has no idea of what a true bubble tea supposed to taste like or simply think that since they sell tea leaves in tin barrels then it must be authentic Taiwanese tea = Dead Wrong!
All of the drink tastes watered-down and has no tea flavor. This happens when you try to squeeze out more tea from too little leaves, (a common practice for many tea places, the worst is T4; which uses Tea Powder to cut down costs) and thus severely compromises the flavor of the drinks. TenRen is a top notch tea producer in Taiwan, but when you have a general population that haven’t tasted the real thing; whatever you sell will not matter as you have a good location inside a busy Asian mall....
