Burger Hut — Restaurant in Milton-Freewater

So I've seen a few reviews... some are good, some are bad. 4 star rating seemed mostly good. However, most of those ratings seem like they were posted years ago. However, I still wanted to give it a shot.

So I went in to order. Was 2nd in line, and the person ahead of me just finished ordering as I arrived. Lady turned around to go do kitchen stuff, no big deal. And so I waited.

And waited...

And waited... sometimes places get busy, understandable. Look at the grill... 2 patties... OK, maybe they are doing something else. I can wait still.

So I waited some more...

And then some more...

Suddenly, the phone rings. Lady answers the phone, writes down THEIR order, and leaves again. Look at my phone... 13 minutes have passed. Yup, I'm done. Get in my car and leave. Oh yeah... same car in the drive thru was still there when I first arrived.

The only reason I gave the food a 2 is because sometimes, no taste is better than bad taste, and since I didn't get to taste anything... I tasted nothing, thus being better than...

Good place for a quick bite way better than McDonald's and Dairy Queen. Try their finger steak basket. Or their double cheese Burger with grilled onions. My only complaint is sometimes they forget to season the Burger properly, For that it loses a star. But for the most part they're spot on. They have good onion rings but make sure to ask for them extra crispy or they I can be a little soggy. They have the junior Burger special, Which is a junior Burger, small fry, small drink. The junior Burger really isn't that much smaller. Great value. I used to split one at lunch time in high school almost every day with my girlfriend. This place has been around for a while I don't see it going anywhere. New owners are definitely listening to critique and open for suggestion and are great people pillars of our community. O and I almost forgot the best thing ever they make hard ice cream milkshakes..... And I'm going to leave you...

Not a single person, of the 5 person staff, were wearing masks during this pandemic of a virus spreading through just droplets in the air. These people are cooking our food! When asked if Oregon doesn’t have a mask law for establishments the staffers just said that she hadn’t had time to put herself on yet. Perhaps, but her attitude was that she really just didn’t care. And what about the other 4 people, including the two cooks? The person working the drive through window (arguable the safer of all areas in the establishment to not were a mask if one was not to be worn) was the one place an employee would put a mask on. And then of course remove it when the customer drive away.

Is wearing a mask that hard? Especially when your responsible for being in the vicinity of other people’s food. If they can’t nail this then I’d hate to see their hand...
