I live locally and have been coming here roughly once per week since their opening. While the beer selection is definitely worth coming for, I spend more time in the wines. I've never had a bad recommendation from John Paul and I find myself being excited to come in and see what's new nearly every week. There's always a good rotation of interesting new things, alongside more standard expected stalwarts. While they would never advertise themselves as a natural wine store, you will find most of the same heavy hitters from other local (and more expensive) natural wine stores available here. Whether you're into natural wines, classic Old World stuff, or just want something cool to bring to dinner, they’ve got options that feel thoughtful and unique.
The staff really knows their stuff but in a low-key, non-intimidating way. I mentioned what I usually drink and walked out with two bottles I never would’ve picked myself — both were hits. They've also got a solid selection of craft beer and spirits if that's more your thing.
Bonus: they host tastings, and it's a fun way to try something new without the guesswork. Highly recommend stopping in if you're nearby or even making a trip out of it. Definitely not your average...
