Twice in my life I have walked into a place and walked out without trying a thing. Saturday Sept 6 at Hyde was the second.
Walked in the place looked like it had been a madhouse 30 minutes prior as a majority of the tables were pushed together in 4 or five long rows filled full of debris from customers past will not clear evidence anyone was in a hurry to bus tables. Waited for maybe 5 minutes at the host station and no one came, by to seat, no biggie as I said looked like they had been swamped so walked over and set at the bar. We set at the bar for 10-12 minutes and the person behind the who was clearly a high school kid walked past us 20-30 frantic like he was looking for something never once acknowledged our presence and eventually took and never return. After a another 3 or 4 minutes we decided no one was tending the bar and saw another person up at the host station and walked back over there. (No one still was making an attempt to bus tables.) The high schooler host was actually fairly professional but took us to the only clean (not empty) table in a back nook of the restaurant. We set in the back nook for maybe another 8-10 minutes perusing the pathetic beer menu (3 options on tap at a place this size is a joke) listening to horrid pop country blaring at 120 db like it was night club the whole while the two kids waiting tables in the area had a conversation for the entire time we sat at the table. Finally got up and walked out after being in the place for over 30 minutes with not even a proper food menu.
Cant say I tried the food but from what I saw on the empty tables around look to be mediocre chain restaurant fair.
Easily the worst service experience I have ever had in the...

We’ve dined at Hyde Brewing numerous times, hoping for improvement, but we leave disappointed more often than not. The food quality fluctuates, and while portion sizes are sometimes just right, other times they’re shockingly small. When paying for a meal, there should be consistency in both quality and quantity, and Hyde just isn’t delivering.
The margaritas are another frustrating point. While they can taste great, the ratios of tequila to the other flavors and syrups are inconsistent. Sometimes it’s perfectly balanced, but other times it feels watered down or poorly mixed. Not to mention, they still insist on filling the glass with half a lime and too much ice, leaving you with less drink than you should be getting. And unless Ian, the manager, makes the margaritas himself, you’re rolling the dice on what you’ll get.
The service isn’t much better. The servers are pleasant but seem inexperienced, often leaving finished plates and trash to crowd the table. It shows a lack of attention to the customer experience, which makes the dining environment more frustrating.
We want to support Hyde Brewing because there’s potential here and it’s tough for restaurants to survive in this area. But they need to address these issues with consistency in food, portion sizes, drinks,...
Read moreGood spot! Place feels more like a restaurant than a brewery despite the brewing equipment being very visible throughout the place. Seven beers on tap at time of visit with a West Coast IPA on the way. Had a Mexican lager and a hazy IPA (one of three hazy options) while here and found both to be tasty. The Mexican lager pairs very well with food. The ‘4 Angels’ hazy IPA I had was also better than expected and had a good balance between the hops and overall fruitness of the beer. The place does beer well but I’d come here planning to eat as well as drink. On that note, I also had the three Al pastor taco combo, which comes with rice and black (or pinto) beans along with a jalapeño sauce on the side. The food was great! I was also given a side of chips and salsa before even ordering my beer. Staff were awesome; very friendly and attentive. There’s plenty of bar seating along with couches and padded chairs; you can also sit outside as well. I only saw one gender neutral bathroom in the place so it might be a bit tough going when this place is packed. Overall, it’s a worth a visit and I’m glad...
