It was the smell that had me mad. Not the walls. Not the ceilings. Not the chubby waiter staring at me intently With the name tag Joseph. Looking through the menu i saw it was abundant in options, So I ordered the baby back ribs with assorted vegetables. The waiter staring at me wrote the order rather quickly and scurried away, as if scared. 'do i know him?' I thought. There was no clock on the wall, I asked the ominous man glooming upon me for the time. No answer. Staring at the chaping walls, The scent of mildew and my ribs sizzling in the kitchen filled my senses. I glanced over at the small window in the kitchen door so see a pair of eyes peering at me, it seemed to be a girl. About 10 minutes passed, devoid of my food, in almost unbearable silence, besides the sounds of leaves fluttering in the gentle breeze outside was all accommodated my boredom. I heard the squeaking of the kitchen door open and the smells of, jalapenos and cooked meat entered my nostrils. But it wasn't the waiter who took my order earlier, it was someone else, a girl.I thanked her for including some napkins and a fork. Picking up one of the ribs and bit into the delicate meat which fell off the bone instantly the tanginess and spice was what i was craving for. I reached for the second rib when i saw something in one of the jalapenos. Stopping, curious of what it was, i pulled it to the top. It was a round plastic cap. Was this a mistake? I thought. Pulling out my camera from which i was taking photos for my class earlier, snapping a picture. I called the waitress over to tell her about this, but for some reason she seemed extremely blissful than concerned. As i was about to say something, she interrupted me Asking me for my name. I told her what she wanted in hopes she would tell me what it was. This was not the case, she started to introduce herself, her name was Alexa. she then...
Read moreOrdered steak tacos. Steak was seasoned well but the cut of meat was bad. Had numerous chewy bits in my tacos. Never had that before in the countless times I've had steak tacos from other Mexican restaurants and food trucks. The meat was a bit overdone. Minimal meat on the tacos. They were loaded with onions and cilantro though! I had to ask for limes to be brought out after I got the tacos as they apparently don't serve them with it. Also ordered tater tots. They weren't great but I kinda expected that when the waiter seemed surprised that the words "tater tots" came out of my mouth like he didn't even know they had those on the menu. The complimentary salsa they provide as you're deciding what to order and wait for your food had an odd flavor to it. Wouldn't recommend it. The prices on my bill also were not what they were supposed to be according to the menu and "daily specials" cards at the table. Difference was about $0.50-$1.00 per item, so I wasn't going to raise a stink over it but it's weird that all the prices were just a little higher than what they were supposed to be. Also ordered guacamole and that was actually pretty good but I don't think it's good enough to make me want to come back when the other food is...
Read moreIf they take your order and it was wrong, be prepared to pay for it anyway even though it was a miscommunication on THEIR part. Dine in or call in order, same rules apply. Example of pick up order, if you order 2 meals and they hear 3, you have to pay. That is not how a restaurant works. The hostess was rude and was concerned about already putting that 3rd order in (I didn't order) and what she's supposed to do. How about cancelling it!? Nope! So now she will have to worry about the 2 I did order because I'm not picking anything up. Another example dining in, I ordered a beef taco salad, got chicken instead. I didn't even eat it, so they made me the CORRECT order but still charged us for the WRONG order in addition! What a complete joke. We were excellent tippers and regulars until this happed twice! Both mistakes in their part! Good luck staying in...
