Daddy's has the very best soul food in the city . The food !!!I can't say enough about how good the food is . However, the service is so disappointing. Nobody smiles , the two girls that have been working there since this establishment opened are so rude . I was happy to see they were in the back no where near the customers on my first visit back . I went back the second day and boom here they were faces long and not welcoming. I ordered a fish dinner with three sides , corn bread and banana pudding . When they called my number there was no banana pudding in the bag . I asked the gentleman who gave me my order about the pudding . The rude lady immediately stopped him and said " I already sold three , how many left . What's her order number " . Mind you I was number 46 and they were on number 58 . I told her my number and I had ordered before the other guests. I held open my bag , she rolled her eyes and put it on the counter. Then to get home and see no cornbread. One thing I will always promote is a black owned business with amazing food . This business is in our community for our people. But we gotta do better with the standard of service. People only come here due to the food . Look at the reviews. When did anyone say that they received amazing service at this restaurant. I most certainly never have and that's one of the reasons i stopped going . Every day .. that's 106 per week . Welcome , have a nice day , I appreciate your business, thank you for supporting black owned businesses it's to much to ask for . It makes me feel like these are the owners family members cause how do they still have jobs in customer service without any customer service. Had the service been excellent they would have three locations by now . Cause the food , my lord the...
Read moreI love, love, love to support black owned businesses but things most definitely need to do better if businesses want to succeed and flourish. I loved that there's a parking lot due to the fact that I dislike street parking especially on busy streets. Upon arrival we were more pleasantly greeted by the young lady, I believe her name was Jennifer, who was selling her dessert treats inside the restaurant than the actual restaurant staff. The gospel music that was being played was a nice vibe. As we were ordering our meals the young lady behind the counter seemed like she had an attitude problem or she just doesn't like her job, not sure what her issue was. After our plates were made, she asked us if we wanted cornbread with our plates and we said yes. Not knowing it was an additional charge until getting home and looking at the receipt. We ordered two catfish dinners with 2 sides of cabbage, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes and sweet potatoes. The cat fish was really good and crispy. The cabbage, Mac and cheese and sweet potatoes were good. The mashed potatoes weren't good at all, it tasted as if it was made with spoiled milk due to a sour taste. The koolaid mixed with lemonade drink was really good. It would've been nice if they had cup holders to easily carry out more than one drink with a bag of food. Leaving the restaurant we ended up purchasing cookies, cakes and other desserts from the young lady, Jennifer, at the entrance door. She was a delight. Overall this restaurant gives off mixed signals with the decent tasting/priced food with bad customer service minus Jennifer. I'm the type of person who will not return to an establishment when the customer service is not up to par regardless how good the food/prices are. Please work...
Read moreI normally frequent the establishment because of the spectacular service I received and made me want to patronize despite living 30 minutes away. They had a sweet and friendly hostess that would always smile and ask how my day was going. When she left for maternity leave the customer service went downhill. I still went hoping she would return however the atmosphere felt like you were waiting in a MPS lunch line knowing the lunch lady would be rude with SOMETHING! YES Daddy's food is good but the system is setup horribly. There should be a way you could order catfish WITHOUT waiting in line to walk up to the register to place your order and WAIT again! Today was the last straw of accepting the rudeness from thr hostess with the 5lbs of makeup on. I walked in and the line was close to being out the door. I waited. I finally reach thr counter (not register) and asked the young gentlemen if there was a way to place a fried fish order. The young lady with the heavy makeup yelled out NO! There was no explanation, no comment of how it would be worth the wait, no sense of embarrassment that she took her focus off of the customer she should of been helping to loudly blurt out NO. I looked at her and immaculately walked out. I quickly informed my loved ones and their loved ones and took my business ($30+) elsewhere! Again, the catfish, greens, and cornbread muffins are delicious but not worth the rudeness. I hope the sista that left for maternity leave...
