My mom goes here often so I thought I’d give it a try with my son. I chose to eat off the line. I got fried chicken, spaghetti and black eyed peas. The peas were tasty, the spaghetti was a bit overdone (fat noodles) but not too bad. The fried chicken however definitely seemed old. The meat was dark and rubbery and because we came about an hour after opening I’m assuming they probably put our leftover fried chicken. If you zoom in on the attached photo you’ll see exactly what I mean around the corners of the chicken. That’s my very honest opinion. My son ordered fried chicken and Mac n cheese and his Mac was pretty good as I’m not a fan of Mac an cheese but I tried a bite. He found a small piece of dark hair embedded in his chicken breast so he pushed his food to the side and said he was done. I did not care to mention this to staff because it is my personal experience that staff will accuse you of wanting something for free and I didn’t feel like the drama that may have come along with it. He loved his lemonade and I thought the staff were pretty friendly. I’m not sure if I’d recommend this place, seems like ppl have good things to say here but that was not what happened to us. Update To Owner: I was completely grossed out as I we dined in. There was nothing more I wanted from you.

Their Fried Catfish is now among the top two catfish meals I have ever had (and I'm from Texas). While in town for a family event, we asked some local family members - and some complete strangers - what the best soul food joint was in the MKE. Hands down we were told Daddy's Soul Food & Grille. Very noteworthy side dishes were: the smoked greens, the spicy cabbage, black-eyed peas, and my wife couldn't stop talking about the banana pudding.. My father-in-law wasn't 100% on the meatloaf, but that was only because he's used to Southern red sauce instead of gravy. I enjoyed EVERYthing, and even tried to make it back one more time before our flight left. No bulljive. The interior was well decorated with Smith family history, photos and artwork. The restaurant was very clean and had plenty of seating. If you're into Soul Food or just into old school home cooking and you live within driving distance, I have two words for you: do it. Highly recommended.

I've driven past here a few times and never knew it was buffet server style dining instead of ordering at the table. The baked chicken was fresh, hot & delicious... The yams were delicious. The macaroni was good but not very moist. The greens were great, only down side for me was they had too much meat in them for my liking. So if you like meaty greens then you'll enjoy these. My daughter had ribs, yams and greens. She ate EVERYTHING! My man had the catfish, yams, black eyed peas and greens as well. His didn't have as much meat in his portion; but he enjoyed everything also. The meals came with a cornbread muffin, a choice of meat (which was three pieces) and the option of two or three sides. Luckily we came around noon on a Sunday. They didn't start getting packed until we were leaving which was right after church hours. So I'd advise anyone to get there early to avoid the crowd.

Went to Daddy’s Soul Food on Mother’s Day. It was pretty good. We got the fried catfish dinner with Mac n cheese, greens northern beans and spaghetti. It was pretty good. We also got ribs, greens, yams and Mac n cheese. It was pretty good. We also got the baked chicken, greens and Mac n cheese. It was pretty good. One thing this restaurant has that no other soul food restaurant is an assembly line like nobody’s business. They get you in and out which is absolutely fantastic. The young adults behind the counter were amazing and handled the line like some champions. The news media need to show these young adults working and stop showing all of the young people acting up on these streets. These workers need to be featured. Loved it!!!

This is a great place for some classic soul food. The service was amazing. The waitress went above and beyond. It was my nephews birthday and she got the staff to come over and sing happy birthday to him and gave him a FREE piece of cake. This is what a restaurant is all about. She made it a special moment just for him. On top of that the food was delicious. And I tried a little bit of everyone’s plate From a po boy cod sandwich BLT to BBQ ribs. Black eyed peas made with bacon yams and French fries. This was a great place to go. Also you can dine in or order to go. Great place for the hungry person on the go. I advise stop in meet the very courteous and awesome staff at Daddy’s Soul Food & Grille
