Five Corner Fish Market — Restaurant in Milwaukee

I can count on one hand how many times I’ve ordered at this establishment & each time has been a disappointment. I’ve been reluctant to give a review in hopes that the next time I go back - perhaps it would be better & that has not been the case! I always order the combo #2 which comes with 2 pieces of catfish fillet, 5 piece shrimp, 2 sides in which I usually choose fries & coleslaw. I usually have a lemonade as well. Each time I’ve ordered, the food tastes different so I’m assuming there are different cooks. The catfish fillet is good & has been consistent with taste & the way it is cooked. The shrimp, however, have either been too crunchy, too soggy or too spicy. My coleslaw has been forgotten on 3 different occasions even after reminding them while placing the order. One time I even had to argue with the person taking my order about how many sides comes with the combo that I usually get. The lemonade is terrible & I don’t know what they make it with but it doesn’t seem like it contains any sugar & once even tasted like toothpaste or a chemical & I couldn’t even drink it. Their menu is rather pricey so I expect for my food to be great every time. Some of their staff is very friendly & personable & the restaurant is usually clean. Ordered the jumbo shrimp dinner, only fries were included the coleslaw was sold separately this was a turn-off for me because most restaurants offer at least 2 sides. The shrimp were overly spicy and hard as a rock. The young man who was cooking put my order on and camp back in the lobby and was on his cell phone, not a sanitary practice as cell phones carry all types of germs, the young lady was taking orders and in between orders she too was on her phone. The shrimp were jumbo but waaaay overcooked, due to the cook sitting in the lobby and not tending to the order. Neither one looked professionally attired or very clean. The price for 12 shrimp and fries was 27.00 which was waaaay overpriced for the food and service. I don't recommend this place and won't frequent it again and I predict they will not be in business very long! Also no beverage...

I just realized maybe a month ago that the old Red Snapper location was reopened and under new management and different name. Decided to get some fish for my wife and I this weekend, and I have to admit that the fish was great. I ordered the perch bucket and a #1 combo (perch & cod). The only negative experience that I felt was the young teenage girl that took my order, she could try to be a little more welcoming. But I see that the owner basically is doing the operation on his own and might be still looking to hire staff. But all in all both my wife and I loved the items that we purchased. I hope that this establishment will become a staple in our community...
