A truly wonderful experience & trip back in time! Reservations required, at arrival we sat at the spacus bar, and I was waved over by the hostess to check in. We had the best cosmopolitan crafted by one of the highly skilled mixologist behind the bar, We had to order another absolutely amazing! & artistically crafted! Next our waitress came over the way it was done in the day and in the day I mean a long time ago to guide us though the menu, get our choices of dressings, and let us cash out at the bar as not to stiff the skilled mixologists! And as I always enjoy having the starters on the runway at our table on arrival! Warm breads, bread sticks, butter, wonderful salad mix & home style dressings awaiting! A visit to our table by a owner brought memories back of first class service! Price's for the meals in par for the quality of the product! The Mrs had the seafood option shrimp scampi and it was spot on, I knocked it out of the Park with the high end house surf & turf! Two massive 1lb tails PERFECT, and a juicy done perfect bone in ribeye steak, the visit from the floor manager was nice to check on our table, our waitress was attentive,, and we had spectacular staff service from watering the table to clearing! In review I must say that having worked many years back at a restraunt that had employees from the original staff I can attest to the great service attitude and traditions also thrown in a classic Chicago style Steak house vibe with rattling stainless steel carts pushing out your dinner and mix in A Wisconsin super club with Christmas decorations up, red curtains, you will get a mix that holds true to Tradition! And that sadly is disappearing fast in the Milwaukee market! Finally being asked several times during the eaving if it was a special occasion that brought us I had to say no, it was just many year's ago my last visit, and looking around seeing birthday guests, young couples on date night? Anniversary dinners, I realize this Milwaukee icon is...
Read moreTerrible experience. We arrived early and sat at the bar, where we waited over 15 minutes for the bartenders to even acknowledge us. Our dinner reservation time came and went, and once we hit 15 minutes late I went up to the host every 15 minutes to check our table status. The host always acted like he was doing me a favor by checking on my reservation at all, and then finally, after an hour and my third time checking, gave me this very annoyed look and said 'it's going to be a long time still til we have a table available in the dining room. You could sit outside.'
I foolishly agreed to this, having never dined here before and assuming they had an actual patio for guests. What they had was a concrete landing outside the delivery door with a few hastily-assembled tables and a couple of fake plants for 'ambiance', underneath a massive AC unit that was so loud we couldn't hear each other talk. The table we had was tiny and crammed against the wall directly outside the door, through which waiters were constantly going in and out - I don't know if this was a shortcut to the kitchen or something, but there were far more waiters coming through the area than for our table plus the sole other table out there, which was a large table with many young kids running around.
We tried to give the table a chance, but the few minutes we sat there were so disruptive and loud with the AC and door constantly banging open and shut that we ultimately left without ordering and went to the restaurant at the Hilton, which was a 5-star experience. It was our anniversary, and the only positive feedback I have is that our waitress was great, for the brief time we sat at that table.
Very disappointed as we'd heard great things, but the experience was bad from start to finish. Even though it's winter now and I'm sure the outdoor dining situation is now a non-issue due to weather, this left such a bad taste in my mouth I can't picture us ever returning there to give it...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Five O’Clock Steakhouse on a very anticipated 3rd date, who let me choose the steak house. I had the most wonderful time!!! I can confidently say it was an unforgettable experience! Before we entered there was a very friendly valet man who was happy to open the door for me. The moment we walked in, we were greeted with unbelievable service that set the tone for the evening. The staff was smiling, attentive, friendly, and genuinely seemed to care about making our dining experience special. The bar was crowded and there was live music. Our reservation was for 8:30pm and we had a cocktail in the lounge before being taken to our table. Our server was truly one of the best servers I have ever had! She went brought the whole menu with absolute patience and enthusiasm. Prior to the steak you are served a relish tray (I think this is a WI supper club thing), bread, salads, little bread sticks, and butter.
I ordered the bone-in filet steak, and it was nothing short of spectacular—cooked to perfect rare with a beautiful red cold center. The flavor was rich and delicious, making it the best steak I have had since moving to Milwaukee 1.5 years ago. Thank you for being my first properly cooked steak in Milwaukee! I can't recommend it enough!!!! I ate every last bite.
I should mention that the atmosphere is vibrant and lively, the noise level can be challenging to have a deep conversation or flirt discreetly. If you’re looking to impress someone with heartfelt exchanges, you might want to have drinks somewhere before or after coming here to complete the flirting required for a good date night. 😊
Overall, Five O’Clock Steakhouse is a fantastic choice for anyone looking to enjoy a delicious meal steeped in tradition. With its outstanding service and PERFECT steaks, it truly offers a unique dining experience. I had the absolute most wonderful time, I can’t wait to return and indulge in that amazing...
