Terrible experience which is unfortunate. We just had dinner at their Ristorante Barolotta location in the Tosa village. We hadn’t been in there in 20 years and they rocked it! Wonderful service, great atmosphere and awesome food and wine pairings. On our trip back home to Ohio, we had lunch at the airport location. Just an embarrassing situation. Exceptionally unprofessional servers (but the food was pretty good). We waited at the host stand for 5-10 min to be seated (per the sign), while there was all of 3 patrons at the bar and 1 patron seated at a 2-top table. After our server took our order and was walking back to the bar patrons, she confronted and scolded two patrons that had the audacity to not wait to be seated (I watched; they waited at the host stand like we did for an inordinate amount of time and clearly assumed they should seat themselves). The server host made them move from the 3-top table and move to any of the 2-top tables saying “this is how we do it at the airport”. Did I mention that at this point, there were all of 3 tables occupied including theirs? Of course that couple got annoyed and left.
We were at the restaurant for approximately 25 minutes, during which our server never stopped back until it was time for the check. During those 25 minutes, I watched 3 additionally parties approach and wait at the host stand and, after not being seated, greeted or even acknowledged, chose to leave. All the while the second server/host stood at the back of the restaurant along with 3 cooks/food prep folks talking and looking at their mobile phones.
Now, I will say the handful of patrons seated at the bar were well-cared for. We could hear the loud conversation that our server continued to have with them, while she ignored those potential customers! I’m sure the owners would...

First off - The woman at the bar with the two-toned hair was awesome. Attentive, calm, serving people as quick as possible.
There was another woman who was serving the seated guests and she was being terrible. Every time she came to the bar she would LOUDLY share that she was there on a volunteer basis and she could leave anytime she wants, that the second time a guest is rude to her, she will shut the whole place down. She repeatedly stated that people shouldn't order drinks on the menu and was complaining loudly about someone else on the crew not helping.
I totally understand the place is understaffed and they are staying open only as employees are willing to work, but that is not service-area statement area. It made it so uncomfortable everyone was just silent and avoiding eye contact until she left- This happened every time she came back to make a drink. The other employees in the area didn't even respond to her.
Very nice of the crew to stay open past 6PM. But you're still getting paid, don't yell at the restaurant guests for being there, when the restaurant is open. I found everyone around me and who entered super respectful and kind, the disgruntledness was not professional.
Everyone else in the crew was great except that waitress. I would have left if she was my server because she was so rude.
Other note - Don't waste your money on hard alcohol. While the price is decent, I believe the drinks are watered down - stick to...
Read moreJust finished a skillet frittata here with plenty of time to catch my delayed flight. Waitress was initially very pleasant but ignored my request for giving me my check. Saw her clear off tables and go into back area behind kitchen. Several minutes later another family approached counter asking to pay their bill. I waited still but stood behind this family so I could be helped next. Waitress did not acknowledge me and walked away toward kitchen again. I decided to leave my money on table and walk away so I could board my plane on time. She then ran after me toward my gate yelling I didn’t pay enough! She brought the credit card slide machine with her telling me she has no help...she’s the only one there. No manager on duty. I found this unbelievable bc I saw 2 other workers serving other customers. She kept repeating she has no mgr on duty...nothing she could do. She wa interrupting me and was very rude. I insisted she stop treating me this way and she kept her poor attitude with me. I said I was so done with this when her credit card machine didn’t work while w we’re standing in the hall near my gate. She then said she was going to report me to the sheriff! I followed her to wait for the sheriff to come and talk to me. No sheriff showed. Someone at Starbucks Indicated I was free to catch my plane without paying for my meal. Thank you! Wow....will be reporting this to Bartolotta Corp office as I am a frequent patron of their other restaurants and this experience was...
