We made a reservation and they only had the heated tent. I am not totally sure that it is legal with the closed in tent, all of the open flames and carbon monoxide, but that's a different issue. Unfortunately the waitress spilled two Prosecos on one of our party and appropriately she apologized profusely and paid for our drinks. The problem was that the first round of drinks took over 20 minutes and then the replacement drinks took 10-15 minutes. We ordered our dinner and it came out quickly and it was quite good. The propane heater next to us was running out of propane and the flames were down to "idle". So we were getting cold and we let the restaurant know and they decided that they were going to let the tank run completely out before replacing it. So 20 minutes later we were all cold, including our friend with the Proseco soaked pants. We complained again and they changed the tank, and we finally had heat again. So now they ask us if we want dessert and we order something. They mention that they have a big party coming in to take over the entire tent and they need us to be quick. Someone else comes by to tell us that they need us to be done soon since they have a big party coming, and then when they deliver the cake they tell us a third time that they need us to get moving since they have a big party coming.
We had a 6:00 reservation and the party of 40 was scheduled for 7:45. That is hardly enough time to get everything done, especially when the drinks are slow to arrive and they spill half of them on you. Finally we see someone who looks like the manager helping to set up the tent for the big party. He and the team are sighing and making noise and continuously giving us dirty looks. I finally ask him if he is the manager, because I want to tell him about how bad our experience has been. He says that he is the owner and he hears our complaints and said that it is a busy Saturday night and that's how things go. The high quality restaurants that I have been to will go out of their way to make sure that your experience is excellent and if it isn't they will find a way to get you to come back and give them another chance. Nothing like that happened. So guess what, I won't be coming back and I will let people know about this experience.
All in all, food was pretty good. Our poor waitress had a bad night by spilling the drink. The rest of the crew was...
Read morePretty good meal at sorella with handmade pastas and pizzas, fresh mussels, and amazingly fresh yet unique cocktails
We came over to celebrate my friend's baby being born . Turns out, they come to sorella every Friday. You know how good it is when that happens :) highly recommend the mussels, cavatelli, and cheesecake. I remember having the meat ie. Pork chop last time, would recommend those especially because they rotate their menu
If you're here just for a bit. I would 1000% come here JUST for the cocktails
COCKTAILS : 🥒Buzz Word - super fresh with cucumber juice, house chili tequila and salted mint syrup. The perfect refreshing drink if you love cucumber like I do! 🍸 Carmela's Garden Martini - looks like a martini but tastes like a bloody Mary. They use tomato water and you can see the olive oil on top. So creative!
FOR APPETIZERS: 🐚Baked mussels with oreganata (highly recommend) - very plump , flavorful with lemon, butter, garlic, and oregano + crispy breadcrumbs 🥬Cacio e pepe artichoke - never seen before . Crispy fried with cheese & black pepper. Definitely something I can't make at home!
MAINS: 🧀Cavatelli (highly recommend) - the only homemade pasta on their menu. It comes with something called the "Monday sauce" + ragu, broken meatballs, sausage and ricotta 🍝Soft Shell Crab Spaghetti (special) - nice and crispy soft shell crab with a light & fresh tomato sauce. Spaghetti wasn't home made though 🍗Chicken Parm - nicely done with flattened breasts & crispy baked 🍕Pepperoni Pizza with additional mushrooms. Amazing crust at the ends and not too heavy. Middle might be a bit soggy since it's a bit thin
For dessert, their strawberry cheesecake was AMAZING

First: atmosphere. We arrived at 8:10pm for an 8:30 reservation. It was the tail end of dinner rush, and we arrived expecting to wait for our table to be ready. We sat at the bar and had a drink while we waited. It was very cozy, hip, inviting. The wine list had lots of Italian options by the glass or bottle. (Sadly, a lot of “Italian” American restaurants do not.) I ordered a Prosecco and my husband ordered a spicy tequila cocktail that was perfectly balanced. Delicious.
Our table was ready on time. We ordered several plates, all to share.
Beet salad: 10/10 for my taste. Very well balanced, not too much dressing, just delicious. I could eat it every day. (I order the beet salad at any restaurant who serves one, this is now my fav.)
Arancini: crispy outside, creamy and well seasoned inside. So good, would order again.
Burrata with crispy chili & house bread: 100/10. Whoever thought of this deserves a raise. I’ve never had this flavor combo and now I crave it!
Clam pizza (special): I really enjoyed this. The sauce had a slight kick of heat to it. The dough was very good, it was cooked well. Would probably order the Margherita next time since it’s our go-to at pizza/Italian places, but I’m glad I tried this.
Ziti w/ragu: my least favorite dish. Anytime I see a “ragu” pasta on a menu, I order it. The ziti shape didn’t go well with the type of sauce (for my personal preference). Also, the sauce wasn’t as rich and comforting as lots of ragu’s I’ve had. It was still tasty and I’m enjoying the leftovers. Just didn’t knock my socks off like the burrata.
I also ordered a glass of Barolo for dinner. Delicious.
Overall- I loved this place and can’t...
