Keeper is great. Delicious pastries that are locally made, great breakfast items, and lots of different drinks. We’ve been here several times and it never disappoints.
It’s funny to me when I see reviews about how “expensive” it is (or Pfreim or other places that have opened up recently). People in the food business need to earn a living wage as well, and need to be able to afford our very expensive houses and apartments just like everyone else. I’ve noticed that almost all of the new establishments in Milwaukie charge more than those that have been here for decades, which makes sense because newer businesses probably pay more in rent and have lots of upfront costs they need to pay off from opening. I think a lot of the “long time” Milwaukians may just not be used to that here.
Personally, I’m ok with paying higher prices as the quality of the food is great and I very much doubt the owners are pocketing a ton of money in profits. Happy to support places like Keeper and other new business moving into Milwaukie that have helped revive a (what was previously) a completely...
Read moreWe have always had great service at their other location and we’re excited to have this location open up closer to our home. We have visited multiple times and have never had a pleasant experience at the Milwaukie location. The staff has never been pleasant, we have been ignored multiple times while standing at the counter to place our orders, multiple times we have been ignored by staff while they were having personal conversations behind the counter or while just randomly milling about instead of assisting paying customers. We have never walked into the Milwaukie location and felt welcome or appreciated as customers. The coffee is not good enough to deal with poor, pompous and snooty customer service. I DO NOT recommend this location. If you want to have a pleasant experience go to their location on 41st...
Read moreThis location recently opened in this cute neighborhood; great place to walk around with your coffee. It’s very room and love the vibe/design of this place (seating both upstairs, downstairs and outside/patio too). I wasn’t that impressed with the mocha it was just okay (a little on the $$$ side). The rhubarb pastry/pop tart with the frosting on top was epic. Their baked goods are on point definitely grab one (have a huge selection). I wish they’d offered to heat it up it’d tasted even better. I’d maybe try a pour over or drip on another visit (pretty much $20 for a coffee and pastry seems a little high maybe I am wrong). Definitely a coffee shop worth...
