I stopped in here while sightseeing around Portland and Milwaukie in 2017, and really dug the atmosphere. I was the only customer in the place, and was fairly hungry after walking around Portland, and wanted something that'd stick to my ribs. I was not disappointed. I ordered some chowder, the clams, and a cobbler and left stuffed. The food itself was good. If you are expecting a gourmet meal, go somewhere else. This is simple diner/bar fare and it did what it did well. I don't know the deep lore of Milwaukie, but given the decor, I could tell Libbie's had been around feeding the community for a while. That's not a dig against the place. I hope it keeps it's atmosphere as long as possible, but some people might be put off. If you walk in and check your expectations, you'll be happy.

I have been coming here for 20 plus years. Great little Milwaukie restaurant and bar, with great food selections. Classic diner food, good service. I recommend the breakfast omelets and anything with seafood! Love the bar as well, bloody marys are great.

food varied, we had 5 different items, service slow, not necessary servers fault as she was the only one working on a Saturday during dinner time and she was also tending the bar. soup was so, so, claim chowder pretty spicy, BLT could have used some bacon, sirloin burger was dry, only taste with charcoal, they didn't put the grilled onions on and by the time server brought them, they were ice cold, also has the Brockley on plate, this we said not to because of allergies to it. they changed fries and i love the crinkle fries, so i ate a few of them. oysters were over cooked. we then had to wait for bill so long we went to counter, server was serving drinks in bar. when i asked if she told cook how bad the chopped patty was, she said she did iso i asked if they were going to take somethin off, at which time she took bill wrote on it and said no charge, i told her i didn't want her to get into trouble and she stated she wouldn't because the owners want to know these things. I had only eaten 2 bits. i really don't think this would have been this bad if there had been more...

I really wanted to like this place. We just moved to Milwaukie and are looking for a new "local spot." This seemed like it would be it - classic dive bar atmostphere, typical diner food with little gems like oyster shooters (one of my favorite things!) ... but oh my goodness was the service A-W-F-U-L. There must have only been 4 other people in the bar, but the two servers were far too busy gossiping to each other about how much they hate their jobs to actually do their jobs - and then when they did, they completely ignored us in favor of the other 4 people in the bar who were clearly regulars. Everyone else in the bar was also, including the servers, over 50 and apparently they just didn't take to kindly to us young whipper-mid-30s-snappers invading their territory no matter how polite and quiet we were. Don't worry, Libbie's. We'll find another place to eat at weekly, order at least 4 drinks per visit, and tip at 40% for those meals and 4 drinks (you really missed out on that, my boyfriend is the most generous tipper...

Let me just say that our whole meal was a let down! We ordered the French dip, ham sandwich, steamer clams, and a Reuben. The ham sandwich, I literally could have made it from home the bread that was used is the same brand we get from the store (cheap brand), The French dip the meat tasted old and gross, the aju tasted weird, the hoagie used also didn't mix well with the sandwich. The steamer clams were bland besides putting a little chives on top of it. I couldn't eat the rest of it and just gave it to my husband. He likes everything and anything so, he ate the rest but, also agreed that it was pretty disgusting. Overall, it was cheap food for a high price.

This is my first review of a restaurant since I am in the restaurant industry and didn't want to bother the waitress. Whoever comes in the French dip, ham sandwich and the steamer clams arent worth it! I'm not sure if I'd go back during lunch/dinner. Maybe they are better at...
